I have a fine old English pocket watch from around 1770, and also an Omega pocket watch from 1938 which I use daily and which keeps perfect time. I prefer pocket watches to the encumbrance of a wristwatch. There are still experts around (though beginning to disappear) who can service and repair these and I've just had the mainspring replaced on the Omega.
