It's interesting that May Hulton (nee Geoghegan) was 'deaf and dumb since birth' on the 1871 census, but not on subsequent ones. I wonder if she was 'cured'. The family still seemed to be plagued by health problems, however, as evidenced by little Amy May.

On a lighter note - Amy senior was obviously determined to have a Dot in the family!
