"Saumuré" is pickled in brine. So we can have "le variateur d'ambiance du concombre suamuré" or "le conconbre au vinaigre plus bouché" - but that sounds a bit too lewd. I don't post stuff like that on the internet. Meanwhile, "saumâtre" means "hard to take." Someone less pure-minded than I could realy do something with this translation.
