I see that Alex Scott, the Olympics presenter is being castigated for dropping her "g"s, as is Priti Patel, of course. I suppose the thing is that it does not sound like it is a proper part of the accent. I know that it jars when I hear it from Priti Patel as the rest of her speech sounds close to RP. Robin
