So Folk Clubs at their best involved local communities . . I remember Swindon Folk Club when it was run by Ted Poole involved the irish community But what seems to be happening now is that people are becoming isolated in their homes to some extent and not going out to socialise as much as they did and why would they if they went to a singers club where people are fumbling through sheets of paper unpractised. I would not mind so much if the performed from music if they had practised
