Thank you, thank you. I have been struggling and losing sleep with this question for the last couple of days. I should have remembered that I had merely to describe the problem and the kind loving people at Mudcat would be falling all over their feet to help me. Again I am deeply moved by the willingness of Mudcatters to go that extra mile and make sure that no concern is left unanswered. Thank you, thank you, I really mean that.

Soph, maybe you should make an appointment with my psychiatrist. I am quite sure he would find lots of decent material for your parody.
Sometimes you just got to dig deep thats all.

Soph, I can see the problem the parodists might have in doing an impression of you. T'ain't anything to do with perfection, just that nothing parody-wise jumps out. You just don't seem to have any (publicly) annoying habits or "beat it into the ground" positions.

I've got tons. Someone who's into proper sentence construction could have a field day with my habit of using brackets. My tiresome references to Quentin Crisp having all the answers, would qualify as well. Oh, and the harping on playing "proper chords", "investing in the music", and always improving your accompaniement skills...those are rife for parody. Not to mention using.....dots...when I can't instantly think of the proper punctuation. My suspicion of religion and outright hatred of authority come into play now and then as well....oh, and I still know practically nothing about the computer! Sheeeit! Next to that you ARE perfect!

Rick

I'm still trying to find something in my manner or my presentation that would be decent material for a parody. I have to admit that I haven't found it yet, I must suppose therefore that I am perfect in all ways and, consequently, better than the rest of you.

Don't sweat it Bonnie (or Little Neo, or OverallGal) we're Canadian, we aren't SUPPOSED to have an identity!

As far as identities go, I wouldn't mind being Elizabeth Hurley's dress!

Damn it, TWO bad jokes in one post...satisfied Fieldmouse?

I just don't see how (because you know I don't get into this much, myself), anyone could object to a bit of pasquinading. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....(the idiots can - Click Here - ), well, then we must, by definition, agree that it in itself must be part of the creative process.

Bit like What is 'Folk Music'?, I suppose.

Even Bob Dylan would have agreed. I mean, like, who does he remind you of?

Eh?

Plagarism is rife in society today, and in order to get to my point I will have to search through numerous web pages, taking many hours, and many days, while steadily increasing my Flesch-Kincaid level
But that's the way the world is today, I'm afraid.

Me? I'm perfectly fine and friendly (me mammy loved me!) But if I think someone's trying to take the piss, I'll tell them to shag away off for themselves.
I've got loads of links I could send you to, to further prove my point, but I'm not going to waste my time doing it, if'n half of yousens just sit there and be content to have the information be brought to yiz on a silver platter.

So yis can take that whatever way youse will. My life wont change much, one way or the other.

B.

I have been reading this thread with interest and I wish to equire what is the meaning of this thread and why did it start?

I don't mean why did anonymousethief originate the thread but what is the deeper meaning of this thread and what does it tell us about ourselves as human beings. Or perhaps, more to the point, are we human beings and assuming we are, how can will really be sure whether we are right or wrong when it is only we who can arrive at such a conlusion. Or is there an alien culture that told us that we are humans and if so, where do they live? If this alien race told us that we are human beings how do we know that they are correct and how do they know who they are? Could it be that this alien race were given their identiy by an other alien race who also told them that we are human beings?

Considering the possibility of the number of aliens that may or may not exist, we need to consider the number of planets that may exist and how many support life as we know it or do these aliens who may or may not have told us that we are human beings have to be life as we know it when is likely that as we are unaware of thier existance that rather than being life as we know it, they are in fact life as we don't know it?

Bonnie I had trouble finding a name for myself. I knew it had to have a bone in it and I like words that end in "ock". I started off with leg bones, and tried Femur Cassock and Tibia Hammock but I knew that I was more of an arm bone than a leg bone so I tried Ulna Peacock. There was still something wrong though and I realised that the second word needed to be anatomical too so I arrived at Humerus Buttock.

Just keep thinking, you will get there and it will be worth the effort.

I am so confused. At first I thought as I was new, I needed a name that reflected that and I saw my self as being Little Neophyte. I later thought that as my name is Bonnie and I was learning the banjo that I should change to Banjo Bonnie. I then thought that as I was still learning that I should go back to being Little Neophyte but to sign my self as Bonnie so that people would no that Little Neophyte was really Banjo Bonnie.

I then thought that perhaps that was too confusing and thought that maybe if I combined the two to make Neon Bonniephyte this would simplfy matters but I no longer know who I am.

Your thoughts would be so appreciated.

A-ralphin', a-ralphin', oh ralphin's not much f-u-n

This wouldn't happen so much if there were more hits on my mp3.com site where I have recently posted a song that I wrote on Rick Fieldofdreams' former guitar which is different from my Martin O-18 which is an acquired taste but good for playing quietly and I met Stan Rogers and Stockwell Day richly deserves his impending retirement and did you know I opened for Archie Fisher?
