So it was Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan. (I don't know why I put that in--just wanted to mention Buchanan, I suppose.) Cleveland was elected in 1884--- "Ma, Ma, Where's my pa? Gone to the White House, Ha Ha Ha.". Cleveland also has the distinction of being the only president to ever have been elected to two terms separated by somebody else's presidency; in this case Benjamin Harrison. This is all asssuming my memory is accurate. |
