the tune is alternative. it is a newer song that just came out recently...or i just heard it on the radio recently. however, it is alternative, and it is a newer song. and i know that he uses the exact phrase "hang up the phone," at the end of the refrain. thanks again.

A couple of possibilities spring to mind, both blues tunes. James Cotton does one called "Take A Message" and Sonny Boy Williamson II called (I think) "Keep Our Business to Yourself." Both use phrases that sorta mean "hang up the phone," but are not exactly that.

Help up out a little, Goalie — is the tune blues, country, folk, pop — what?

i don't think that is it. thanks though. the artist says hang up the phone at the end of the refrain every time he sings it. i thought that would be the title, but i havent been able to find it anywhere. any more suggestions, please let me know. thank you.

What comes to my mind is:

"Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone
Let's pretend that we're together all alone
I'll ask the man to turn the juke box way down low
And you can tell the friend there with you he's got to go"
Don't know if this is close but it's one you could scratch off if not. There was also a reply song to this one didn't make it as big & I can't remember much more about it. Barry

Ummmm... "Chantilly Lace" from the Big Bopper?

Anyone else? This is kinda vague... that's the only one I could come up with.
