Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: GUEST,999 Date: 25 Oct 12 - 08:52 PM Nigel, my apologies. I have not been keeping up because 'no news is good news'. Read and re-read Gnu's post. My deepest love to you and your family. It'll work out, buddy. Believe that. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: ChanteyLass Date: 25 Oct 12 - 07:51 PM I hope Jane stabilizes again soon. I guess it is good to know that her condition is being carefully monitored, but it must be hard to find out that there is a new concern. Sending more prayers. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: gnu Date: 25 Oct 12 - 06:30 PM Rough to hear of Julia and upsetting to hear of Jane. With Julia, we know it's managable albeit damn rough. With Jane, it brings back that "unknowing" BUT it got turned around before and it will get turned around again. I know this may sound silly, but... I just know it will be okay. |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: billybob Date: 25 Oct 12 - 06:05 PM Will hold Jane and you and Ann in our prayers Nigel,I hope that the scans over the next two weeks will bring you all peace of mind and that the Dr is just being very careful.I am mindful that having to wait is very stressful for you all. with love from us both Wendy and Billy xxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 25 Oct 12 - 11:00 AM Jane's scan results were not what she was hoping for. Her Oncologist does not appear overly concerned, but 'activity' (Doctor's word) has been detected. Further scans & a review over the next couple of weeks. After so many months of 'stasis', this change comes as a very unwelcome visitor. With Love, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 25 Oct 12 - 04:23 AM Wendy, if you, or anyone else for that matter, would like to send get well messages to Julia, she can be emailed at: julia@molliemusic.fsnet.co.uk Julia's daughter will print off the messages & take them to her Mum. This email address was placed in the public domain by Julia's daughter specifically for the purpose. Special thoughts for Jane today, more scan results due. Much Love to You All, Nigel & Almost Home Ann. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: billybob Date: 24 Oct 12 - 05:40 AM Healing thoughts to Julia, five weeks is a long time to be be immobile! Any address Nigel so we can send cards? Wendy xx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 24 Oct 12 - 05:14 AM I mentioned Julia Jones, wife of Nic Jones earlier & the horrible fall she sustained. The latest info. I have is that the poor lass will have to spend at least the next five weeks in hospital, immobile! She will not be able to move until the pelvic & lumbar fractures have healed. Wish she'd never gone near that perishing loft ladder! With Love to You All, Nigel & Ann (Home this coming Sunday) xxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 22 Oct 12 - 05:10 AM Gnu, your impassioned plea has pushed my thinking into overdrive. And you know what? I think you're right, the Thread is the Thread. True, it has changed over the months for the very reasons you list. I've changed enormously over my 65 years, but I'm still called Nigel Paterson! So following the principle: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", 'Healing Thoughts & Prayers' it shall remain. Good to hear from ChanteyLass. I think your summary just about covers where we're all at presently. I'm off now to MFR Studios to continue work on an unfinished piece 'In the Greek style', Much Love to You All, Nigel & Ann (Still in NC) xxxxxxxxxx PS: MFR aka My Front Room! |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: ChanteyLass Date: 21 Oct 12 - 01:20 PM It's about time I caught up on this thread. Let's see, while I was away Jane's condition has remained stable, Nigel's diabetes has become stable, Billybob has come home, Spaw has been in but is now out of the hospital, and Julia Jones has broken several body parts but will hopefully heal. Anything else I skimmed over to quickly? Love to all of you! |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: gnu Date: 20 Oct 12 - 09:06 PM Change the name? No. This thread is this thread. Yes, it is more than it started out to be. It grew because of all who read it, joined in, posted, monitored it for every single update and shared the down and the UP. "Healing thoughts & prayers please" You cannot change that. We're all in this together... Red Green |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: billybob Date: 19 Oct 12 - 05:44 AM such good news Nigel,so pleased for Jane, and for you and Ann, I know how it feels to have worries about a child,20 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with Crohns and was terribly ill for some years, operations and many hospital stays, then six years ago she had "Bunny" followed closely by Prudence. We had been told that having babies could bring on a remission and since then she has been wonderfully well, no medication, no illness!!As a parent I am sure we all have the "why not me" moment, but the joy that we all feel watching our babies grow up into wonderful adults outweighs the worries. Sending positive thoughts to Julia for a speedy recovery and so pleased that Spaw is back on board the Rainbow! How about " The Rainbow Thread of Healing Thoughts" must be many mudcatters who need them but have not thought to visit here? Just a thought! On a happy note , Billy and I are celebrating our Silver Wedding next week with a barn dance party, it is ages since I have sung with a band but I would like to sing a song for Billy , any ideas?? Sailing on Wendy xx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 19 Oct 12 - 04:56 AM Jane had her latest scan this week. Nothing has changed, the cancer remains 'in stasis' & her Doctors report being very pleased with her progress. Julia Jones is out of bed & being encouraged to walk, although this is proving very difficult initially. She has had an op. to insert pins in her wrist. It was not her arm that was fractured. In Spaw's returning post above, he refers to: "The Rainbow Thread". I'm wondering whether we are due for a name change, bearing in mind how the thread has metamorphosed since it's inception in January. Please let me know your views, With Love, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: gnu Date: 18 Oct 12 - 06:02 PM Spaw... "the higher roads"... that's what I have been doing, even when I take the low road. Learned it from you. SO nice to read yer post. Get strong and get back. Missed ya, bud. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 18 Oct 12 - 05:45 PM Got Ann's return date totally wrong. She has to stay longer & won't be back until Sunday 28th. Thought I only had a couple of days to get the house straight. Turns out, I've got more than a week...even I can manage that! With Love, Nigel & Ann (eventually!) xxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 18 Oct 12 - 11:26 AM Welcome Home; Welcome Back; WELCOME SPAW! Be you Thrice Welcomed. We really have missed your wit, wisdom & company. Beyond pleased to know you're back home. Plenty of R&R...post when you're ready & not a day sooner, ok? So good to hear from You in person, With Love, Nigel & Ann (Coming home Sunday; 3 days earlier than planned) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: catspaw49 Date: 17 Oct 12 - 10:29 AM With the exception of that last big ouch where I send my best as well, the news over her on the Rainbow Thread seems pretty upbeat ......and everyone deserves a well done!!!! I want to thank all from this group who have posted here and elsewhere about me. I'm home and really have no idea what is happening or did happen or why or where we go from here. When I'm a bit more in the typing mode I'll give you a rundown but for now I'm in a holding pattern and also still a bit tired from the whole damn mess. Let's all just stay on the higher roads for awhile and think the best for each other! Spaw |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: billybob Date: 16 Oct 12 - 04:57 PM Oh dear, what a horrid accident, much love and healing thoughts go out to Julia. Mudcat Mojo works wonders as we know so well! Thanks for your good wishes all, sailing on with love Wendy xx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: gnu Date: 16 Oct 12 - 02:51 PM "She's broken her arm in two places and fractured her lumbar spine and pelvis." I have heard of "If yer gonna do something, go all the way." but that is just waaaay toooo much! Ouch? And just one? Not my word of choice. But I am of Irish decent (yeah, I know). |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 16 Oct 12 - 11:22 AM That is indeed the best news, Wendy & Billy. Been waiting & hoping for something along those lines for some time now. Yes Kat, some gooood medicine working it's gentle magic. We also need some gooood medicine for Julia Jones, wife of Nic Jones. Their daughter, Helen, posted this on FB yesterday: " Hi this is Helen, just to say that Mum (Julia) has fallen off a ladder and is in hospital and out of action for a while. She's broken her arm in two places and fractured her lumbar spine and pelvis. I think that's what they said." That is one big OUCH!! Can we summon up the Mudcat Mojo for Julia, Please? I was with them last week for three days & Julia didn't go near a ladder....was it something I said?! (-; Much Love to You All, Nigel & Absent Annie (Home, middle of next week) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: billybob Date: 15 Oct 12 - 02:50 PM Really great news Nigel for you and Ann and Jane, hoping Spaw is also improving. Billy had Chemo number four today and the research sister( he is on a trial) said the blood tests last week showed no sign of the CLL!! They are thrilled but we know it is early days, two more treatments to go and a bone marrow test three months later but fingers crossed for the future. So tea party at the beach hut in the spring I hope! Thanks to all the crew for the love and support sailing on Wendy and Billy xx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 14 Oct 12 - 07:22 AM Been away for a few days in darkest Devon, catching up with some of my Music buddies from the 60s. Soo much to talk about. I lost count of the number of times one of us said: "Do you remember when.......?" I've come straight over from Spaw's thread where the news appears to be good & very positive. The Mudcat Mojo at work yet again! I hope everything is well with you all. Jane is fine; I'm fine (Diabetes finally stabilised); Ann is fine in NC, although I think Bumper (The Family Hound) is walking her legs off! She'll come home much fitter than when she left, or she'll be totally shattered! With Love, Nigel & Ann (Temporarily residing in Charlotte) xxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 10 Oct 12 - 02:16 AM Thank you, everyone. As always, very good to hear from you all. I've been spending more time over on Spaw's thread these last few days. Kat has posted some informative & encouraging updates, but I know nothing about his current situation. I'm putting my trust in his Doctors & making an uninformed assumption that he will make a complete recovery very soon. He has been a regular & most welcome contributor to this thread. His wit & humour uniquely intertwined with homely common sense throws light in some dark corners. Holding Spaw in our thoughts, With Love, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 06 Oct 12 - 10:44 AM A quick update about Jane. All is well, nothing has changed, her drugs' program continues, along with it's regular monitoring. She is living her life much as she did before her diagnosis, but she has had to scale down her activities, both domestic & social. She does get tired more quickly & she simply has to put the brakes on & rest. Much Love to you All, Nigel & Ann in Charlotte NC xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 05 Oct 12 - 02:16 AM Bruce, the reviewer missed the point of the evening entirely. It was a celebration of Nic's award, his musical journey, his enduring legacy & the fact that he is out there, performing again for the first time since 1982! How do you best celebrate...you surround yourself with Family & Dearest Friends, many of whom just happen to be Musicians. 'The Halliard', with whom Nic began his career, was just one part of the genius that was & still is, Nic Jones. It wasn't a concert that lent itself to conventional review. It was a unique, intimate & very affectionate tribute to a singer/guitarist who has triumphed over almost insurmountable odds. Did we have a good time?....YES INDEED! A night to savour; a night to remember for a lifetime. With Love, Nigel (Ann says Hi from NC) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: GUEST,999 Date: 04 Oct 12 - 05:20 PM "With a little luck & a fair wind, they'll outlive his sarcasm" If I have them somewhere, I'll dig up two reviews from the same performance. One was a rave and the other was a bomb. That was the last time I read reviews--about 40 years ago. I'll send via email if I can find them. Y'all had a good time and that's what matters most--well, that and your fans had a great time. Doesn't get better than that, regardless what a review says. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 04 Oct 12 - 05:58 AM I'm doing ok, thanks Bruce, despite the fact that Ann is in Charlotte NC for three weeks, visiting our other Daughter. I actually quite enjoy doing the household chores 'solo'. I take my time & bit by bit, the washing & the cleaning gets done, maybe not quite to Ann's exacting standards, but they get done...eventually! Still smarting a little following a less than complimentary review of our performance at our 'Big Gig'. However, a few dedicated 'Halliard' fans rose to our defence to redress the balance. The one thing that the reviewer can't despoil is our songs. With a little luck & a fair wind, they'll outlive his sarcasm, him & probably the rest of us too! Always good to hear from you...how are things with you? With Love, Nigel & (absent) Ann. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 03 Oct 12 - 07:45 AM Very pleased to hear from you Wendy. Billy clearly is on the mend if he's asking for a "proper cup of tea"! The intimate relationship between us Brits & our Tea is a phenomenon not fully understood or appreciated beyond these shores (-; So here's to no more horrid weeks; cheers! Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: billybob Date: 01 Oct 12 - 02:20 PM Billy came home an hour ago, had a cup of proper tea( his words and he is American?) and a power shower in "his" bathroom!! Lovely phone call from his sister in New Jersey to welcome him home,so this drama over for now!! Thank you to all the crew who have been so kind and helped me get through a horrid week. So now I am ready to be here for all of you! sailing on much love Wendy xx |
