Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: Jack the Sailor Date: 01 Nov 05 - 05:57 PM The Wings are looking strong. The Sens are 8-2 if they stay at that pace I'll be happy. I thought the bet was for bragging rights. Since it isn't we better brg while our teams are all still in it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: wysiwyg Date: 01 Nov 05 - 03:47 PM Frank, "rules," LOL-- this IS Mudcat, you must know no one will fall for RULES! The rules depend on one's team. In our case, for example, any Hawks' game must be watched/heard on radio with a good meal and a good beer or two handy, since the food will have to suffice as the main event! :~) Anyway it will be nice to SEE, tonight, just what those wicked Wings have been doing to use the first two games of the series. Go Hapless! :~) ~Susan |

Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: Pseudolus Date: 31 Oct 05 - 12:40 PM New List....dont forget the rules, they're easy. Once you're team is eliminated you must post a message admitting the error of your ways to route for a team such as yours. Then, when there is one team left standing, another post supporting the virtues of those so intelligent as to follow a champion! Go Flyers.... Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: bobad Date: 29 Oct 05 - 10:57 PM Good luck with the Wings Beer. They used to be my team back in the early sixties, before I stopped following hockey for around 25 years. Back in the glory days of Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, Normie Ullman, Alex DelVecchio, Terri Sawchuck and all the other old time greats. They're off to a great start this year, let's hope they keep it up. |

Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: leftydee Date: 29 Oct 05 - 01:02 PM Beer, With the coaching change in Detroit the Wings are re-energized. They look like the hardest working team in hockey again. Too many years of the old system made them a bit complacent, I think. The salary cap made them cull some of the big salaries ( Hull, McCarty, etc) that were not what they once were. The team is starting to look like Team Sweden, but it's OK. The new rules seem to favour that kind of hockey. I thought Shanahan was about done 2 years ago but he looks great. Well.... that's it from Hockeytown. Enjoy the weekend |
Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: Beer Date: 28 Oct 05 - 10:31 PM All my Canadian fans here in Quebec told me that the wings were going down because of the salary cap. In fact I had two fellows say that they were going to be like the team when Ned Harkness was in charge. I didn't appreciate that dig. Thanks for comming on board Lefty. Sign him in PSEUDOLUS. Beer |

Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: wysiwyg Date: 28 Oct 05 - 12:44 PM LOL, Frank, I had that same thought! "Which teams do we want to hear lose tonight, while playing fairly well and trying real hard?" No Pens connection, except we really liked their style on the TV game and decided they had heart. ANy team that goes well with beer is a team I can support! ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Hockey's back...Are ya happy about it? From: Pseudolus Date: 28 Oct 05 - 11:23 AM Forsberg got his first goal last night with less than a minute to go in regulation tying the game. No one (especially Gagne) is complaining about his play so far however. He has been an assist machine and Gagne has been reaping the benefits...twice last night. Go Flyers.... OK, WYSIWYG and Hardi are both Blackhawks fans, but they are "foster-fanning" the Penguins until someone can step up and take the reins. Someone needs to step up. It would be a shame when one or the other team is eliminated that they would have to berate themselves for being a fan of the eliminated team. Plus there must be some rule against having two teams in the pool. Of course it is the Pens and the Hawks...maybe it's ok... :) Frank ToulouseCruise - Leafs Steve Latimer - Leafs Mooh - Leafs Aine - Stars Jack the Sailor - Senators Bobad - Senators Beer - Red Wings TheBigPinkLad - Canucks Dianavan - Canucks WYSIWYG - Blackhawks Hardi - Blackhawks WFDU - Ron Olesko - Devils Bobert - Caps Bardford - Flames gnu - Flames Peace - Oilers Spaw - Blue Jackets Pseudolus - Flyers Mark Cohen - Flyers WYSIWYG/Hardi - Pens |
