Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Metchosin Date: 23 Jan 07 - 12:56 AM Maybe the next time I put Sailor on a lunge line, I'll do it in style too Alba. I think this little number might do the trick, its looks as if its pre-ripped and at least the whip won't confuse my horse. On second thought........... its really wet out there, I'll sink down to my knees in the muck......I'll need my rubber boots too. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Alba Date: 22 Jan 07 - 10:53 PM Well Metchosin this Thread has made me take a serious look at how I dress and tomorrow morning I will be making more of an effort. I have to do some muck out work but I shall not let my standards slip so I looked out this Little number and will wear it with my Rubber boots and anorak! Glam...you want Glam. You got it Mudcat!... **mawhahahahahah!mad laughter!** Jude |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Metchosin Date: 22 Jan 07 - 10:45 PM You liked that eh, kat? Normally I don't wear my jacket and boots around the house, but I just came in for a pit stop and wasn't expecting the bowl of chili. I took a brief peak at the 'cat while it was heating and the glamour thread was the first thing I saw and I thought, "Yeah, right!" LOL Today, I'm in black. Black fleece lined tights, black turtle neck sweater, black puffy nylon vest, black socks, black shoes, black underwire bra, white panties and a few rings on my fingers. I'm not in mourning or trying to make a goth fashion statement here, it's just happened to be what was clean that I could find quickly. Aside from other reasons, it also misses the glam mark because under the light dusting of white dog hair, the tights have holes, the sweater has pulls, the vest has a few splatters of white paint or bleach on it, my socks are full of hay seeds and the shoes are flats not spikes. Ah well....even I will concede, it's a bit of an improvement over yesterday and who knows, I might be inspired by this thread to pay more attention................or lie. |

Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: JennyO Date: 22 Jan 07 - 10:17 PM When it's this hot, I can't stand anything on my arms, so it's another one of those pink sleeveless tops and some lightweight navy blue capri pants with a seam that needs mending, plus the usual underwear, rings, glasses, bare feet and fan. It's too hot to wear a cat. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 22 Jan 07 - 09:34 PM ooh, my old summer house dresses were soooo daggy that it was wonderful to find the old rayon dresses. Do I really HAVE to change? sad sandra |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Alba Date: 22 Jan 07 - 09:30 PM ...but Mooh Folks are only sharing what they are wearing when online to the Mudcat.........best not open a Pandora's box when it comes to offline attire..! *smile* Oh and Sandra....you are just too Glam today, enough already....go slip into something dowdy would ya....lol Jude |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Mooh Date: 22 Jan 07 - 09:24 PM Yeah, no thongs, no fishnet stockings with the seam up the back, no streetwalker wear...What's with this place anyway? Oh yeah, folkes... Peace, Mooh. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 22 Jan 07 - 09:13 PM well, as it the middle of a hot summer day I'm sitting here being cooled by a small fan, wearing an ankle length black cotton/rayon vee-necked loose dress with elbow length sleeves. The skirt is scattered withe gold stencilled shapes. I have 3 similar dresses - 2 are fuschia, one is aqua. They are floaty & cool & used to be working/going out dresses. The black one was in the way yesterday when I got my camping gear out from under my bed, so I removed it & worked in singlet & petticoat. Today's singlet is a dark bluey-green that does not go with anything I own, petticoat is black, bra beige with non-matching knickers, & I have bare feet, my hair in a plait over my shoulder held by small black elastic thingy, silver sleepers in ears (2 different sizes) & silver bangle that lives permanently on my left wrist. If it was winter I'd be wearing medium trackies & medium fleecy top & fleecy vest instead of the dress, & maybe old hiking socks, or old leather sandals (not together) cos inner Sydney's winter is like some northern hemisphere summers! I don't have a heater, & my windows are permanently locked open! a very glamorous Sandra |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Scoville Date: 22 Jan 07 - 08:05 PM Blue calico shift dress, same baggy green sweater (my "at-home" cozy sweater), appropriate undergarments, socks, red plush slippers. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Becca72 Date: 22 Jan 07 - 06:59 PM As I'm in public right now, I'm sporting a bra, white tee shirt and light green sweater, blue jeans, panties with penguins & eskimos on, socks and my "special shoes" - ugly, but good for my back. And of course there is my favorite accessory...cat hair. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: JennieG Date: 22 Jan 07 - 06:41 PM Another day, another set of clothes.....lime green tee, white capri pants, white lacy undies (I buy mine in matching sets), bare tootsies, earrings and 2 rings. Oh yes, and 2 hairclips to hold my hair back while it dries, I have long hair. Shall be getting spiffed up shortly to go shopping with a friend - the bare feet will be replaced by some multi-coloured strappy sandals. Cheers JennieG |

Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Charley Noble Date: 22 Jan 07 - 05:54 PM A sweater, over fleece shirt, bluejeans, and lambskin slippers, and last but not least a very warm calico cooncat on my lap. Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Genie Date: 22 Jan 07 - 02:58 PM Oh, I forgot. I did put on a bra when I got up. (I like for the whole body to be up when I am.) §;-D |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Genie Date: 22 Jan 07 - 02:56 PM The elastic-waist cotton-slacks-cum-pajama-bottoms (black with a white mini-print) and lightweight dark turtleneck sweater that I slept in last night, plus black Mary Janes with black anklets, and a pullover that's basically dark green with a rust and tan plaid-ish design on it. Oh, and no make up yet, plus I haven't "fixed" my hair except to fluff it up a little with my fingers. In other words, I'm the picture of glamour! *g* OTOH, except for the 30 seconds when I stepped onto the porch to get my mail, nobody's seen me today except my cat. And she's very non-judgmental. Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Mooh Date: 22 Jan 07 - 10:28 AM I have a sort of uniform, either blue or black jeans (shorts for summer), and t-shirt. Rarely wear button up shirts. If I'm chilly, on goes a fleese vest or a Leafs jersey. Socks with shoes (often Doc Martins) or sandles (gasp!). About twice a year I go to a work wear store to refresh (I wouldn't say "update") the uniform...you know, pack of socks and undies, jeans if I need 'em, maybe a pair of shorts. Much prefer those free festival and music industry t-shirts, Leafs-wear, and ones with fish on them. Not too imaginative, but simple and practical. Peace, Mooh. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Bunnahabhain Date: 22 Jan 07 - 10:09 AM Non-descript clothes, T-shirt with something dance related on, trace sawdust and an air of vague puzzlement, although this is entirely normal, especially the last item. |

Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Alba Date: 22 Jan 07 - 09:53 AM Dear me, well I ALWAYS make an effort when I am visiting the Mudcat. I have on my Chanel Suit and full makeup, a nippy pair of slingback shoes, black of course, and Victoria Secret underwear. .....One can't let one's standards slip just because nobody can see one..can one! |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: jacqui.c Date: 22 Jan 07 - 09:39 AM Nightshirt and a red tartan longsleeved nightshirt over the top as a dressing gown. Both came from the Salvation Army thrift shop, where I buy most of my clothes. Nothing on my feet - I can't stand them being too warm as that starts of the restless leg syndrome. Oh, and I'm wearing a necklace I also got from the above - checking out to make sure it's silver, which it does seem to be. Got out of bed an hour and a half ago and I'll get dressed sometime today. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Liz the Squeak Date: 22 Jan 07 - 08:11 AM Black nunderwear in huge, green rugby style shirt with Hastings Jack in the Green logo, purple linen trousers. Give me about an hour and it should be nothing.... I love my undisturbed Mondays at home alone! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Scoville Date: 21 Jan 07 - 11:56 PM I've got a whole wardrobe of wool plaid--Woolrich, Pendleton, and one that my aunt made for my dad way back when he was my size. Most of them are older than I am, but you can't beat a good wool plaid shirt. My favorite folkie dress is the stylized Afghan tribal dress my mother bought me for birthday/Christmas when I was fifteen--cobalt blue rayon with embroidery all over the front and big bell sleeves. I wore it so much my brother finally had to beg me not to wear it to his wedding. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: JohnInKansas Date: 21 Jan 07 - 11:29 PM Some of these people are scrounging around wearing more clothes than I OWN. In deference to house guests, I pulled on a pair of shorts this morning (over skivvies of course). ... ... ... I guess that's about it. John |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Bee Date: 21 Jan 07 - 11:28 PM Um... which clan tartan would that be, Joe, and hunting or dress? |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Joe Offer Date: 21 Jan 07 - 11:20 PM I ALWAYS wear plaid - it matches my eyes. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Bee Date: 21 Jan 07 - 11:11 PM I recently did purchase, at Frenchy's (Nova Scotia's premiere chain of second hand clotheing stores), a perfect glamourous folkie dress. It's long, black, cotton with an embroidered black on black velvet buttoned bodice and a fringed hem. What those Boston people throw away! Unfortunately I haven't had anywhere glamourous enough to wear it yet, and the cat would go nuts on the fringes if I wore it around the house. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: wysiwyg Date: 21 Jan 07 - 10:55 PM Parsely, sage, rosemary, and thyme..... Well crap, we ARE folkies... No long black veils? No scarlet ribbons? No broadcloth tucked under anyone's arm? ~Susan |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Janie Date: 21 Jan 07 - 09:58 PM Flannel pajama top with woolly sheep cavorting among the stars, the long pants I've worn all day, old socks, old slip-on suade shoes and a thick poly-fleece bathrobe. I've been getting ready for bed in slow stages since 7:00 tonight. Janie |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: number 6 Date: 21 Jan 07 - 09:25 PM Plus fours, a Harris tweed jacket, a beige Oxford shirt cut from the finest broadcloth one can buy, tartan tie, and I'm wearing a fez ... it's Sunday and I always dress up for dinner. biLL |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: JennyO Date: 21 Jan 07 - 09:18 PM Loose sleeveless shirt and undies, 2 rings, my glasses, bare feet, and the cool breeze from the fan wafting over me. If I have to go outside or answer the door, I'll pull on a pair of loose pink capri pants. Well it IS summer here. Yesterday was worse - it got to 40 degrees C, the air from the fan was hot, and any clothes were too much, although I had to wear some unfortunately. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Bill D Date: 21 Jan 07 - 08:53 PM Just popped out of the shower and will wear until bedtime, a pair of jeans( yes, underwear..Jockey shorts if you must know), a brown turtleneck---(long sleeves- we are keeping the heat lowish) and a brown plaid shirt......and two pair of hand made booties I was given as presents several years apart, the inner ones knit, and the outer ones fabric with a ribbed cloth sole (they were really too large, but the fit perfectly over the knit ones!)...it makes a warm, comfortable way to not put shoes back on. All the rest of the day I wore ragged work jeans to grunge about in the shop. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: wysiwyg Date: 21 Jan 07 - 08:44 PM I suspect there's a shanty in this somewhere, or at least a shack. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Slag Date: 21 Jan 07 - 07:57 PM Just enough clothes that if someone were to come to my door, I could answer it. Enough clothes that hair won't be scattered throughout the house. I won't be an embarassment to EMTs (read clean underware) should their presence be required. Today I need a spatula to turnover. Ask me tomorrow and I'll check again for glamour. I'm sure I have some around here somewhere. |
Subject: RE: BS: Glamorous Mudcatting From: Gizmo Date: 21 Jan 07 - 07:53 PM Here I am wearing black poly/cotton trousers, a pale turquise and white t-shirt. No socks, black panties and 2 bras, one normal and one sports one for extra scaffolding and support for my line dancing earlier on this evening. I am just so unglamourous - AND PROUD of it. I am also wearing specs, having taken my contact lenses out not more than 15 mins ago. My hair is a mess - and I gave up on wearing make up months ago. I am also wearing 3 pairs of small hoop ear rings in my ears, and a small silver hoop on my left nostril, and a small discreet, black flat nose stud on my right nostril - I never remove these. I am also wearing a small dragion tattoo on my back. Shortly I will be getting into my lovely baggy pale pink pyjamas. Is that enough information for all. (The bras are white BTW - I doubt I would get run over by a bus and get rushed to hospital lounging around on the computer. |
