Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: GUEST Date: 13 Jul 04 - 08:22 PM Phew!!! I didn't see my name on this witch hunt list! Yet...but I'm sure Mr.or Ms. Georgianmcarthy can dig some pretty awful stuff up about me and anyone he/she chooses from the Mudcat archives. Peter Woodruff (AKA wdyat12) PS I'm from Maine. Like Senator Margaret Chase Smith said to Senator Joeseph Mcarthy, in so many words, "Go smoke a rope!" |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: mooman Date: 13 Jul 04 - 08:16 PM In no particular order and certainly not an exclusive list, perhaps... John Kerry George W. The Dalai Lama Bill Clinton Ralph Nader The Pope Donald Rumsfeld Ariel Sharon Yasser Arafat Vicars (in general) Dick Cheney Halliburton Inc. Michael Moore Millard Fillmore John Howard Michael Howard (no relation) The Rev. Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: freightdawg Date: 13 Jul 04 - 08:08 PM Oops, cross posted. Guess we need shirts for Amos and Blackcatter too. (only self-nominations are allowed) Freightdawg |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: freightdawg Date: 13 Jul 04 - 08:05 PM Its funny that a thread with such a dark title has turned into one of the most entertaining I've read in a long time. Bobert, you always crack me up. Sorry you have been hoaxed. Maybe this could be the start of another Mudcat t-shirt. It would be black, with the banjo shown broken over someone's head, the little catfish lying dead at his feet. The first honorary copies would be sent, free of charge, to Sinsull and Bobert for their gracious (but undeserved) self-nominations. Thankful there have been no other nominations so far :-) Freightdawg |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Bobert Date: 13 Jul 04 - 08:04 PM Okay, I officially rescend my rescendation... Iz a Troublemaker! Amos is a troublemaker! and Sinsull is a troublemaker! Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Blackcatter Date: 13 Jul 04 - 08:02 PM I want to nominate myself. At least I'm my own asshole. By the way - this is yet again a good reason for not letting GUESTS start BS threads. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Amos Date: 13 Jul 04 - 08:00 PM No ya don't Bobert. Hoax or not, I'm in, and I nominate Sinsull too. I am definitely one of the troublemakers, because stupid people just make me soooo mad I can't keep my big yap shut. A |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Bobert Date: 13 Jul 04 - 07:49 PM Well, if this ia a hoax thread then I'm withdrawing my confession... Geeze... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: kendall Date: 13 Jul 04 - 07:36 PM We are all assholes to someone. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 13 Jul 04 - 07:35 PM I'd hate to think Bobert outed himself because of a hoax! The premise of the thread is a sorry one from beginning to end and all of the ramifications in between. Whoever started it, it was a mean-spirited idea. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Little Hawk Date: 13 Jul 04 - 07:21 PM Ha! :-) I also doubt that it was Georgiansilver. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: SINSULL Date: 13 Jul 04 - 07:13 PM Aw please! Can I be on the list? Just once I would like to hang out with the cool kids. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: CarolC Date: 13 Jul 04 - 07:07 PM What a horrible idea. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Leadfingers Date: 13 Jul 04 - 07:06 PM G S - Most of the 'abusive' posts on the Cat seem to come from those who post anonymously as Guests , which is very easy to do , wether you are a member or not . There are a lot of posts which are mildly impolite , usually VERY tongue in cheek , so I will go along with Amos's comments and leave it there . |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: wysiwyg Date: 13 Jul 04 - 06:54 PM I don't think that IS Georgiansilver posting. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Bobert Date: 13 Jul 04 - 06:33 PM Well, while I think it real "brown shirtism" to point out the "troublemakers" I don't think it's out of bounds fir troublemakers to steo forward. But only if they wish... I am a troublemaker! Hey, I like being a troublemaker. Someone has to do it... But I would like to think I do it with a level of humor and respect for those with whom I disagree... Now, I will admit to calling *ne*other Catter "sick" and told that Catter that I would not be interacting much with them because of their behavior. That's about as close as I have come to disrespecting someone personally. However, if anyone else has felt that I personally attacked them, I would appreciate them PM'ing me fir an apology... Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: jimmyt Date: 13 Jul 04 - 06:12 PM Georgainsilver, take a deep breath, count to ten, get in an anger management class, start drinking, stop drinking, turn to or from religion, get a hobby, there must be some solution for you. (Just joking, so don't burn down my house) Seriously, could you offer some specifics as to what the heck you are talking about here? I think this idea has very little to offer in a constructive vein. I don't share a lot of people's ideas. politics, religions, etc in this forum, but this is common ground where I come to meet folks, try to learn something. maybe make some new friends. See where other people are coming from. Seems like a better attitude. But maybe that is just my opinion. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Once Famous Date: 13 Jul 04 - 06:10 PM 1. Georgiansilver for starting a with hunt thread after he/she got off the time machine from Salem 1700s. |
Subject: RE: BS: List of troublemakers on Mudcat......... From: Amos Date: 13 Jul 04 - 06:08 PM GS, I'd suggest this sort of an action be suggested to Max before execution. Much as I appreciate the impulse, I think you are walking on what is known as a slippery slope indeed. If you appropriate Mudcat bandwidth in order to start a public excoriation and/or witchhunt, you are likely to cause as much trouble as anyone you might want to name here-- and I notice you didn't include anyone! Those who deserve inclusion are unlikely to learn from being named. Those who are named unjustly will be hurt, and none will be served by it. Learning civility is an individual lesson. A |
