Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: Jeri Date: 27 Dec 08 - 12:19 PM Aw, that's too bad Charmion. I hope she's OK, and I hope she's OK quickly. Micca, I don't know about Maine, but Toronto is pretty un-cold with giant mountains of snow melting all over and a lovely London-ish fog covering the land. Tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer and I think maybe I should have packed shorts. |

Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: Charmion Date: 27 Dec 08 - 11:38 AM A major hiccup has manifested itself in Ottawa, and Edmund and I will probably NOT be able to make the trip this year. Our elderly cat Perdita -- 18 and a half years old -- fell off the kitchen armchair this morning and staggered all over the floor before she could get her feet under her. This is the third time I've seen this problem, and once is happenstance, twice is circumstance, but three times is enemy action. Fortunately, the Bytown Cat Hospital is open today, and we got her in to see the vet. Probably a potassium deficiency, said the vet, fairly common in very antique felines, but we won't know until the results of the blood tests come back from the laboratory on Tuesday. Also, we have to dose her twice a day with an appetite stimulant. Until the lab results come in, the vet will not be able to assess her as a candidate for boarding -- pilling the cat twice a day is more than I can ask of the homechecker. On top of that, I'm still coughing badly and may not be travel-ready myself by Tuesday. Watch and shoot ... I'll make the cassoulet on Monday anyway, so it will be ready to go if we can come. We will keep you posted. |
Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: Micca Date: 27 Dec 08 - 11:05 AM Well, I have done the "on-line check-in", I am now awaiting my "cat sitter" to arrive to get Keys so that Morgana The Flatulent also known as Little Wugsie has a comfortable time while I am Freezing my butt off in Maine ( I am still trying to work out how I agreed to exchange the freezing wet cold of London for the sub-zero temperatures of Maine)all I can do is plead" it seemed like a good idea at the time")!!! After the journey home from "Old Keepers" yesterday after a splendid Christmas , Thank you Hils and Richard which included a 45 minute queuing in the open in freezing temps. with a 25-30 mph wind to add to the chill factor, and If that was the Gatwick Express I would hate to travel on the Slow, non-Express, transport I don't think I can be surprised by any travelling problem,, still see you Maineacs tomorrow sometime if all goes according to plan. |

Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: Micca Date: 21 Dec 08 - 10:03 AM Giok, Hate to say the obvious but" Been there, done that, got the T shirt" and very lovely it is too, with KT, Ebbie, Terry and Sal, you would feel very at home as the climate was very much like the North of Scotland (except I understand it gets a bit colder in the winter, a bit more like the top of Cairngorm) but the company (like in Maine) is of the very best!! and they even have VERY GOOD Beer!! |
Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: KT Date: 21 Dec 08 - 09:07 AM Well, Mary, I didn't promise warmth. Those swimmers are dry land. Ask Micca. It HAS been very cold, though, single digits, but it's looking like a heat wave now.....23 degrees, but oh, that wind is cold...... It's looking like there's quite a storm heading your way - better find some snow shoes for your guest! Now, you must consider sharing your Brit. You've already got a few good ones! But it'd be grand to have that Scot, too! |
Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: John MacKenzie Date: 21 Dec 08 - 07:05 AM That's right Micca you go to Maine, I'll go to Alaska. Maine can have it's pet Brit, and Alaska can have a pet Scot. |
Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: Charmion Date: 20 Dec 08 - 10:31 PM Environment Canada is promising "Snowmageddon", beginning tomorrow and going on and on and on. Misery loves company, I guess. |
Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: SINSULL Date: 20 Dec 08 - 06:40 PM Oh great! A drunken dentist in a thong! This should give FOX news fodder for at least two days. Micca - you stay put! No need to get involved in that one. And as for you, KT - find your own Brit! Imagine trying to lure him away to ALASKA of all places with promises of snow free streets and warmth. |

Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: Bat Goddess Date: 19 Dec 08 - 07:28 PM Twelve Days After Christmas The first day after Christmas my true love and I had a fight, And so I chopped the pear tree down and burned it just for spite. Then with a single cartridge, I shot that blasted partridge, My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me. The second day after Christmas, I pulled on the old rubber gloves, And very gently wrung the necks of both the turtle doves. My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me. The third day after Christmas, my mother caught the croup; I had to use the three French hens to make some chicken soup. The four calling birds were a big mistake, for their language was obscene. The five gold rings were completely fake and they turned my fingers green . The sixth day after Christmas, the six laying geese wouldn't lay, I gave the whole darn gaggle to the A.S.P.C.A. On the seventh day what a mess I found, All seven of the swimming swans had drowned. My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me. The eighth day after Christmas, before they could suspect, I bundled up the eight maids a milking, nine pipers piping, Ten ladies dancing, 'leven lords a leaping, Twelve drummers drumming and sent them back collect. I wrote my true love, "We are through, love", and I said in so many words, "Furthermore your Christmas gifts were for the birds!" |

Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: SINSULL Date: 18 Dec 08 - 11:55 AM Now they have all moved in: 12 drummers drumming, bodrhan players of course. 11 pipers piping - hookahs, nice touch. 10 lords a leaping - at least the milk maids are happy 9 ladies dancing - clogging in time to the bodrhans 8 maids a milking - that doesn't look like milking to me. 7 swans a swimming- someone has to shovel out the bathtub 6 geese a laying - actually three. The other three fell victim to the clog dancers. 5 faux golden diamonique rings (SIGH!) 4 calling birds 3 minus one french hens minus the two Freddie got 2 disemboweled turtledoves and A partially mangled partridge in a peed-on pear tree. Wonder if Micca and the blond are willing to do the clean up. |
Subject: RE: Where is Micca????? From: SINSULL Date: 18 Dec 08 - 09:08 AM Nine ladies dancing...clog dancing. Great! At least they eliminating some of the avian population. Down three geese and a French hen. What's the count now, MMario? |
