We got a letter today from the local hospital (a Banner Corp one) Gist is....'Your account is now at approximately $1,590...blah blah. This is only an estimate. This is not a bill. Our records regarding your insurance tell us that your portion of this will be $282 blah blah. Again, please note this is only an estimate. You may owe more or recieve a refund. We would appreciate you taking care of this matter as soon as possible. Please include the section below with your payment' Self addressed envelope, with the hospital's return address. No stamp.

I wrote on the return portion:
You must be joking. I don't pay estimates. I pay Final Bills after the insurance has settled and I have recieved an EOB. I certainly am NOT paying a non itemized 'non bill' estimate.

I didn't put a stamp on it either....it will be 'returned to Sender' which is where it is supposed to go anyway! I can't believe it!!!

Home, finally. Got here about 10 AM our time. I turned him over to the daughter and took a nap. His mom will be here in about 3 hrs.

Now, WHAT the hell would cause an onboard computer, car, 06 Saturn Vue, to just quit? Car would turn over but not run. Key button/door locks wouldn't work, headlights wouldn't shut off. FINALLY got hold of Saturn and they said to disconnect the battery and re connect it. That worked, but of course it DID pick the most awful day to have a nervous breakdown.

Yes, it was at the Surgery Center when we were trying to get him out of there and into a motel room.

Owen only looks like Ralphie when him Mom gives him a Mowhawk.

I can't sleep. Stuck in a motel, non smoking room, cranky husband who can't sleep, I just want to go home.

The pictures just didn't show how bad the damage is. There isn't even an in house lounge in this place.

If you've seen any pics of Barbaro the race horses leg, his elbow is worse. Looking at a lot of changes in our lives.

I wish I could sleep. I wish he could sleep.

Well, folks, it's much worse than we thought. Almost 5 hrs of surgery, LOTS of screws and pins, both lower arm bones shattered. Dr said it was like a jigsaw puzzle in there.

We did not get home, in a motel in Laramie overnight. I'm exhausted. Goint upstairs to bed. More when I get home.

Yikes...just looking at that x-ray makes my arm hurt! I've only broken little bones (fingers and bones in my foot) and that hurt like all hell. I can't imaging breaking a "big" bone. I'm sure there's a dirty remark in there somewhere...

My elbow hurts on a daily basis since I tried to show what a big guy I was by picking up Martha (big boned). I started to drop her on the sidewalk but broke her fall with my elbow. Alls well that ends well. SHe kept her solo violin performing career and I have a 30 year old memory.

Thanks, Lucy. I have a couple, one for each wrist. They don't seem to help, and the right wrist swells so bad that the bracelet, made to fit snug, is just too tight. I do keep trying them, tho.

Can't wear them at work either as I stick to everything. Steel tables, sinks, oven, pans.....LOL. I'll get it fixed eventually. One day at a time right now.

Sorry to hear that Sorcha, hope things mend well and quickly - and that you get your carpal tunnel sorted. A friend of mine had a great improvrmrn in her carpal tunnel by wearing a magnetic bracelet, just a thought (if you dont have a pacemeker fiited) to help you if you dont get sorted in the near future.

OK, the top of the radius has slid up into the joint. We're taking him to Laramie (150 miles) either tomorrow eve or early Thurs morning for surgery. Plates and pins. LOTS of PT later.

Rap, the canoe is fine. Never accept a free canoe. It'll cost you a LOT. I don't even want to know how much.

I still want to know if the canoe is okay. You don't get a free canoe everyday. Just ask my brother. He got a free cedar canoe, only he had to do a little work on it. Like replace all the strakes, which didn't come with the canoe. His wife finally told him to "get that junk out of the garage!"

Yes, surely we all are, but he managed to break his right arm today. Radius, just below the elbow joint. I only glanced at the X rays, but I don't 'think' the actual joint is involved. He is seeing an Osteo Dr in AM to decide whether to reduce and cast or surgery and pin.

I am supposed to be in Cheyenne at 0930 for nerve conduction tests (carpal) but if I can't go to sleep I'm postponing that. I'll have to postpone my carpal surgery (no date yet) until after he gets some use of HIS right arm anyway.

He said he learned that the 'ground is fookin' hard and I don't bounce like I used to'.

Sheesh. S@#T Reduction needed here.
