From: Scoville Date: 08 May 07 - 12:38 PM That's OK--my dad and I spent all evening swearing because we couldn't get our new mastering program to record from the record player, until it occurred to us that, while the turntable was connected to the amp and the computer was connected to the speakers, we were missing the wire that should have connected computer and amplifier. Duh. |

PC locks-up on boot if I have the MP3 (As a mass storage device) plugged-in - panic really sets-in then. It is hidden under the desk! I came on, logged on and was annoyed to find no real sound, only a tinny muttering from the region of the black box. Bugger thought I. Tried the volume controls etc. to no avail, rebooted, still to no avail and still just the afore mentioned tinny sound. Even tried the Control panel etc. Rebooted again and called aforesaid son to ask what had happened when the thing locked up on him, then went on to explain that there was no sound from the speakers. Son then said "Ah!" and proceded to unplug his mini-earphones from the socket. As I said, I feel a right twit! |
