Joe, I hope you availed yourself of some of that fine roadkill. I shoulda' mentioned you were welcome to whatever you could stomach to load in your trunk. This is a very fine year for all types of varmints but this is also deer season and the cars might be taking a greater toll than the hunters. There must be half a dozen moderately bloated deer within a 3 mile radius.

Hey! I could send you some. Once it passes a certain point there's no rush to use it. Just a bit more on the aged and gamey side of the taste spectrum. More than happy to shovel up one and send it your way along with a few coons and groundhogs. Your wife goes for that natural organic stuff doesn't she? I mean are you still drinking that mushroom tea? She oughta' love this stuff.....its real organic.....'bout as organic as you can get! Lemmee know.....

But I'd like to ask you, publicly, a technical question.

When I opened Mudcat this morning it was to a thread on "The Village Pump"; I posted a comment about the hamlet I came from (with its odd name and I suddenly noticed 'unusual' words being given the red underlining treatment that Word gives words it regards as misspellings. Is this just me or is there now a wonderful new opportunity for 'catters to display their erudition?

That isn't Mudcat. I get it from the spellchecker in Firefox, and I'm guessing you're getting it from your browser. Rick-click on one of those underlined words and see what comes up.

I have met Peter T., who was on Mudcat before I was.
But yet, somehow I still can't believe he exists.

Same with Spaw, for that matter. I travelled through the world's most complete and diverse collection of road kill to get to his doorstep, and I saw this person who claimed to be Catspaw, and I still can't believe he exists.

As soon as I left their physical presence, they went back to being Spaw and Peter T., the Living Legends. I mean, you know what I'm saying? I've come to know a lot of Living Legends here, and, like, it's absolutely splendid.

It has recently been brought to my attention that Joe Offer was appointed by Max as moderator of The Mudcat Café Forum ten years ago in "late 1997".

With all due respect, he is The Original "Clone", as some of us endearingly call the moderators here.
