Thanks I tried Monster cable for a custom switch box and now I'll try Black box.

Comcast is answerable to the county but gets really anger if you ever file a report. I have angry letters to prove it. C'est la monopolie.

I learned that one can buy a blu ray home disk recorder for $2,000 but only directly from the manufacturer which is SONY, yuck..

God damned planned obsolesence makes me angry.

Are you sure you need 3-pin? Most have 4- or 6-pin. Also, the law requires a functional firewire interface, so if yours is non-functional, threaten to take them to court.

Try Black Box. They have cables and adapters for 'most everything.

I'm out $500 if I can't find a cable that works.

Maybe this is how the industry conspired to keep me from using old tape technology to digitally record cable shows rather than buy the hd dvd.

I am trying to get or make a IEEE1394 (3 pin) cable (for HD digital signals) into a cable with a HDMI plug on the other end.

ideally I need 2 such cables for my digital recorder to TV AND BOX TO RECORDER.

So far what I have tried to order or looked for don't fit.

Is there such a cable for sale?
can I make one?


Do I first need to adapt the 3 pin IEEE into a 6 pin IEEE?
that much I can do.

Comcast is required by law to have the IEEE outlets on their cable box but while they are labled on the back they are disabled by not installing the female plug. This was atested to by their phone technician.
I guess.
THey want people to rent their temporary recorders and not use other recrding devices,
