We have Idaho Hillies around here, but they're not very furry and fluffy. They don't make very good pets, but what cat really does?

That ain't nuttin' you should live in Maine, where they grow the coon cats. They (just 2 of them) thought that my car was a mouse & they pushed it over a cliff,,,,,,,,,,,with me still in it.

Haven't been to Maine since, that was a week ago an' I ain't going back till next years festival.

I think the book is set on Vashon Island, where we used to go, by ferry, on short summer excursions. It's in Puget Sound by West Seattle and there's a state park there.

I love The Egg and I. Movie was based on a book, written by the woman who lived the life, Betty MacDonald. Hilarious reading. I spent a summer alone in the deep woods of NW Montana reading library books from the nearest town. The Egg and I was the highlight of that summer. The family portrayed as Ma and Pa Kettle and numerous kids sued the author and publisher. See wiki for more details.

In a newspaper article where it appeared about the time I first came across it, the lady said she's 5'6" tall. I regret not saving the article, but the picture with it was poor quality so I copped the pic from elsewhere.

I've had that photo on file for at least three or four years now, and occasionally offer it to people who brag about their "big cat."

It used to appear under the title: "Now we know what happened to the dog."

The scary thing is it's had three or four more years to finish growing up by now.

(Does anyone remember the very old movie called "The Egg and I," with the story told by the old lady who raised chickens?)
