When I came back home, I found my neighbor had run riot in my garden, and chopped down tress sufficient to fill the back of a ute or a trailer.

I lost it, chucked a wobbly and threw all the rubbish she had stacked in my yard other the fence.

Naturally Mr Plod arrived and tried the 'I know when I'm being lied to" trick - so I asked that since had a local reputation of being a nuisance and compulsive liar, and she claimed that she had not done it, did they notice the cameras pointed at the space where teh activity had taken place, and the signs that said that live camera recording was in place? They were going to try to charge ME with violent behaviour, and refuse to charge her for trespass and malicious damage, but I pointed out that I would welcome a chance in court, as the video footage was now safely off my premises.

Change of tune: I was escorted onto her property to carry the stuff out to the footpath.

Serendipity - it was much easier to do that than remove it through my property... and she won't let me on her property. :-)

The bulletin board is almost finished and not yet installed.
One locking side opens for   pictures or poems and announcments while the other side is fixed and open to anyone for any purpose.
Some Republican reactionary neighbors are curious as hell peaking up into windows for some sign but are unwilling to break their silence.

My wife wishes I didn't start this project. Back on Memorial day behind the soon to be bulletin board I made a small brick & morter bench with a Greek bas relief of the 9 Muses and a small flower garden.

There was one incredible lady across the street who came over to tell me please don't move. She is a world runner who has actually run marathons on every continent on Earth including Antarctica,
She was a Freedom Rider in the sixties whose bus was burned and her entire group thrown into a dirt floor Missisippi jail. This Spring I gave her a tree trunk that I had sanded smooth, drew some faces with stain and sealed. She had the back yard decor for it with a fountain, wood sculptures and natural wood accents on her house.

The overt harrasment by person or persons unknown has come to an end this year, I guess someone has bigger problems now.




As for serendipity maybe there is no such thing. Perhaps its only a prepared mind is lucky because an artistic imagination brings things to life.

What a neat idea...a community bulletin board! I put stuff out front and put a free sign on and usually someone comes along who can use it and wants it. we were taking down tree limbs one day when a couple of guys going for firewood stopped by and asked if they could have it, if they helped out. "Sure!" we said and let them have at it. It was a neat, one-time only connection.

(You aren't selling your house, are you? Mudcat needs to keep its "Washington insider" ya know!:-)

I discovered my neighbors favorite thing!!! by pure serendipity!

Sweet serendipity, where would I be without you,
For some it is a clarion call, for others its AHA
Some call it an epiphaney and others shout Eureka.

As for me I trudge across the sweet Serendipity plains
and trip over discoveries, insights and inventions.
Come with me to the great global serendipity convention.

My street has more than its share of moss backs and goons
They're quick to slander, snub and tell you who to hate.
Now they're suddenly best friends when I put a for sale post by my front gate.

All I meant to do was make a community bulletin board
But now that the neighbors are talking again and asking about my house,
I'm going to just keep it there and stay quiet as a mouse.

Yep, folks are most friendly for the comings and goings
so I I'll just keep that post there and let the neighbors think
about just how bad those damned in between years really did stink.

The Convention is just ahead, Its full of inventions today.
