Subject: RE: Folklore: 1st Century Celtic Coins Found From: artbrooks Date: 14 Nov 08 - 07:41 PM Well, since the Romans invaded and conquered the Greeks, the Carthaginians and the Parthians, it wouldn't seem that they had any real objection to attacking other civilizations. |

Subject: RE: Folklore: 1st Century Celtic Coins Found From: EBarnacle Date: 14 Nov 08 - 06:22 PM Since these coins were minted, do they raise issues about how civilized these cultures were? If so, it would seem to put the Romans in a worse light than usual, as they were attacking other civilizations, not just "barbarians." |

Subject: RE: Folklore: 1st Century Celtic Coins Found From: jeffp Date: 14 Nov 08 - 01:23 PM There is some sort of thing on Yahoo that allows you to give an article a sort of importance, or "buzz," that makes it show up in that category. At least that's what I think it is. Glad you liked it. I thought it was interesting. Anything still intact from that long ago is pretty cool to me. |

Subject: RE: Folklore: 1st Century Celtic Coins Found From: Riginslinger Date: 14 Nov 08 - 12:09 PM I'm with leeneia. I looked all over for a piece that featured a close-up of one of the coins, and it simply wasn't to be found. |
