Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Mrs.Duck Date: 19 May 09 - 02:58 PM Strangely my back doesn't hurt at all when I wear crocs - the real ones. The real ones also don't make my feet seat whereas leather sandals do! |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Becca72 Date: 19 May 09 - 11:56 AM Not only do I find them butt-ugly, but my back will not tolerate them. I spend all the warmer months in my Clark's sandals. LOVE them. the best shoes ever |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: GUEST,LTS pretending to work Date: 19 May 09 - 08:49 AM Hate them. 5 minutes in a pair and my feet were slipping around in puddles of sweat. Leather absorbs.. I get my sandals from the Rooster shoe company, based in York. I also get striped feet in the sun, but who gives a rats? Wouldn't take a pair of crocs, even if you covered them in chocolate. But I do understand that there are a lot of people who like them, and that's fine. Just because I think they look butt ugly and clumpy, doesn't mean you shouldn't wear them... :D LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Marion Date: 19 May 09 - 06:41 AM I always wear Crocs at work, and they're hugely popular among nurses. Besides the comfort factor, it's nice to be able to easily wash bodily fluids off them :). I also wear them day to day as long as it's cool enough to wear socks with them. I'ts nice to have something cheaper than Birks, and to not have to worry about getting the cork soaked in unexpected rain. But I don't really like the feel of them barefoot - and if it's hot and humid, the Croc material against moist skin gives me blisters. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Richard Bridge Date: 19 May 09 - 06:16 AM I'm wondering if I should point out the difference from orgasmic shoes, which are the ones you DO wear to bed... |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Ruth Archer Date: 19 May 09 - 04:00 AM If you find there are spots where your crocs rub you or are a bit tight or narrow (if you have one of the styles that's not the big cloggy kind) put them into the tumble dryer for a few minutes and then put them on straight away. They will mould themselves to the shape of your feet. This even worked for my pink ones, which were a size too small when I bought them. They fit now. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Gurney Date: 19 May 09 - 01:37 AM We had a warning here, not to leave Crocs out in the sun on VERY hot days, because they reshape themselves for dead people and turn up their toes! The manufacturer won't replace them, either! |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: GUEST,hg Date: 18 May 09 - 11:11 PM I wear my crocs for kayaking. Very practical and I can get in and out of the boat in the muck when I have to....explore. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: jeddy Date: 18 May 09 - 07:10 PM i'm gutted i can't wear crocs as they fall off my feet. they need to make ones for narrower feet too. i really like my sandals though my feet are stripey where the sun doesn't reach! |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: VirginiaTam Date: 18 May 09 - 05:32 PM pairs I own in many colours 2 black 1 brown 1 camel 1 red 1 light blue 1 sage grren 1 aqua 1 white I wear them almost exclusively. Arthritis in feet feels like I am walking around with sharp gravel in my socks. The crocs cushion the pressure. Wish they would design bed crocs that suspend the backs of heels over the bed. At moment using a pillow under my calves so heels don't touch the bed, but it gets shifted around and I have to keep moving it back. I thought maybe velcro to hold pillow in place, but that would ruin my bed linens. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Lizzie Cornish 1 Date: 18 May 09 - 02:54 PM They're Orgasmic Shoes!! I have 'Holey's'...same as Crocs, but a little softer...and they are as Fantastic as Show of Hands, The Oysterband AND Seth Lakeman all rolled into one!! Mine are BRIGHT blue and BRIGHT pink, and I look like a Happy Duck in them, because you kinda waddle, with a smile on your face as your feet are soooooooooo comfy! I want a BRIGHT yellow pair next.. They keep your feet cool in hot weather and hot in cool weather..They don't make your feet sweat or smell..(but then, I have very dainty feet, in a kinda duck sort of way)..and they're great for riding a bike with too, as they bend so easily that you grip the pedals better and become a Go Faster Duck with them.. Also, I love to wear with them with elegant outfits and pearls...'cos folk look at you then get down to your feet and kind of whince in pain as the shock of your waddling, wiggling, brightly coloured toesies hits them full on. Mischievious shoes they are! Soooo much fun...like walking in slippers all day long..and even more fun in the rain, because the water comes in the top of them and goes out at the sides, when you shake your feet like a wet dog does.. Best invention since Steve Knightley and the Mando Cello & Phil Beer andSeth Lakeman and their Fiddle were put together... :0) |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Emma B Date: 18 May 09 - 02:44 PM Can't stand them - either to look at or wear. For town, beach or even more serious walking in hotter climates I love trekking sandals like these Women's Summer Sandal which have an adjustable toe and heel strap and can be worn in or out of water - like the camping site at a couple of last years festivals :) |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Maryrrf Date: 18 May 09 - 02:31 PM I have a pair and I love them. They're kind of weird looking but oh so comfortable and practical. I've tried on the cheaper imitations and they don't really feel the same. They're great everywhere, but especially for gardening, where you just wash the mud off and they're good as new! Mine are the clunkly looking clogs, I must try some of the other styles. I love to go barefoot - and they're the closest thing to going barefoot yet having some protection for your feet. Long live crocs! |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Mrs.Duck Date: 18 May 09 - 02:05 PM I have a few pairs of crocs and crocalikes. I actually find the real thing are a LOT better than the cheaper version and find they are brilliant for festivals where we are often camping in small lakes! |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: jacqui.c Date: 18 May 09 - 01:20 PM Too true Claire - I have two different sets of shoes - those I know I will be walking in (mostly the croc type) and those that are for show but which I ain't gonna be using to do more than walk from the car to wherever I need to look decent. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: ClaireBear Date: 18 May 09 - 01:08 PM A certain Renfaire costume mistress once advised me "If they're looking at your feet, there's something wrong with your face." She probably would have advised covering the Crocs with burlap and adding shoe-roses, though... But my point is, get over it! If they're comfy, your face will reflect the bliss you're experiencing. Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Ruth Archer Date: 18 May 09 - 01:05 PM My Crocs are the Prima style - they look like ordinary ballet pumps and give you lovely Croc comfort. Simples. I also have a pair of the flip flops for summer, which look totally normal. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 18 May 09 - 01:00 PM Crocs may be the most comfortable shoes in the world, but they also are the most doofus looking. Is there some rule in the footwear world that says "In order to be comfortable, a shoe must look like something Bozo the Clown would wear"? |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: frogprince Date: 18 May 09 - 12:38 PM RLS - Really Lousy Smell? I've avoided crocs, I guess thinking "plasticy footware = potential blisters or raw spots", but maybe I'll have to give 'em a try. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: jacqui.c Date: 18 May 09 - 12:02 PM I've got arthritis in my right foot - a result of a bunionectomy a few years back - and can no longer go around barefoot as I NEED that arch support so that I can walk without pain. Last year I discovered these wonderful shoes - not Crocs, but a cheaper variety of the same thing. They are very light and easy to wear and are as close to barefoot as I can get, whilst given me the support I need. I've virtually lived in them for the past year, with fleece inserts in the winter ones they do the job very well. I agree that sweating is kept to a minimum and, unlike 'closed in' shoes, my feet don't get too warm, which can bring on RLS for me. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Eric the Viking Date: 18 May 09 - 11:50 AM I love mine. Got a pair in Spain three years ago wore them all holiday for almost everything (except activities where I took my socks off) Seriously comfortable. I got another pair to bring home. Wear them in the house, garden and sometimes to drive with. Took them on every holday since. All they need is the occasional wash in warm soapy water to bring them up good as new. Feet don't seem to sweat in them near as much as when wearing trainers or ordinary shoes. Cool in summer and suprisingly warm in winter with socks. When you go to the beach, you just walk straight in the water and when you come out just keep on walking unless they have picked up sand. Would not swop them and willbuy more when these wear out. |

Subject: RE: BS: Who likes crocs? From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 May 09 - 11:50 AM I HATE arch support. Our feet were not designed to bear wait under the arch, but on the ball and heel. People who put arch supports in shies should be bastinadoed - that's a fair approximation to what they are doing to other people. |
