Subject: RE: Tinflute tunes request from skarpi From: Helen Date: 26 Jul 99 - 08:22 AM Skarpi, I'd like to know more about Iceland. When I was at University I studied the Anglo-Saxon language, Old English language with mostly Germanic influences, and before the French and Latin influences. I saw an Icelandic movie called "The House" about 10 years ago and I felt as if I could almost understand the words people were saying. I don't know if the languages are related. After seeing that movie I decided that one day I will go to Iceland. I will have to wait a while yet but I will definitely get there one day. Helen |

Subject: RE: Tinflute tunes request from skarpi From: Bill D Date: 25 Jul 99 - 06:14 PM skarpi...I will, indeed look for more about Iceland...I found one that had pictures, but no English words at all, so I did not post it..I think the News page is very interesting, and I will read it from time to time..(It said Katla last erupted in about 1918...I think maybe it waits to be sure you are not watching, then *boom* ok...be careful...and when things shake, get hold of something..(like a drink and a musical instrument!..*grin*) |
