Subject: RE: BS: Dr. Oz From: maire-aine Date: 14 Jan 10 - 09:46 PM I kinda like him. I've never been a big Oprah fan, but I enjoy his show. He provides very clear illustrations, and straight-forward info, without talking down to his audience. Maryanne |

Subject: RE: BS: Dr. Oz From: Stilly River Sage Date: 14 Jan 10 - 09:17 PM Out of curiosity, and because I wasn't interested in watching or listening to the Texas GOP gubernatorial debate this evening, I turned on the television and there was Dr. Oz. Talking this evening about brain health. He actually did a pretty good job, not getting to technical, but in his efficiency, highlighting things people can do to keep their brains fit. Then I turned it off, for the next segment. Not bad. Not one I'll watch regularly, because I don't tend to watch many of those kinds of programs, but not bad. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Dr. Oz From: lefthanded guitar Date: 14 Jan 10 - 11:09 AM Thank you olddude lmao!!! I appreciate the input of everyone and I know he's certainly not the most offensive person on tv, probably well meaning; but he just makes me want to GAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Becca, I'm in a minority too in the Oprah camp: tho I don't dislike Oprah, but I never LIKED her either, and could never sit through an entire show of hers. |

Subject: RE: BS: Dr. Oz From: Becca72 Date: 11 Jan 10 - 09:09 AM I think he's great. I'm glad he has his own show now (though I'll never see it due to my work hours) as the one I cannot stomach is Oprah... |

Subject: RE: BS: Dr. Oz From: olddude Date: 10 Jan 10 - 04:17 PM Cannot take him more than 20 seconds, I want to open up a vein. My idea of torture would be put in a room with a full program of the man |

Subject: RE: BS: Dr. Oz From: Ebbie Date: 10 Jan 10 - 03:49 PM As Susan implies, Dr. Oz is giving more information about their own boides to more people than anyone else has. That capability is one of the beauties of the internet age. IMO |

Subject: RE: BS: Dr. Oz From: wysiwyg Date: 10 Jan 10 - 03:20 PM Oz: A practicing cardio surgeon who has seen a lot of neglected innards. With great, non-trad medical ideas he backs with real science, who has learned how to communicate effectively with stay-home folks and recently took his own show instead of poaching on Oprah's, where he got his start as a mass-media dude. Effective: as in, people who dig him do actually try what he suggests, including needed (overdue) medical testing. With enough patient-ed to back up their interactions with managed-healthcare salespeople wearing doc's coats. :~) ~S~ |

Subject: BS: Dr. Oz From: GUEST,Lefthanded guitar Date: 10 Jan 10 - 02:29 PM For some reason I find the man and the show somewhat irritating. Like putting on a sweater and finding it's itchy. Anyone else have that perception? |
