Subject: RE: BS: How can you get a blog? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 16 Jan 10 - 07:34 PM Jacqui, they are very easy to set up. Two of the most accessible ones are via Google (Blogger at http://www.blogger.com/home) and I use one from Wordpress. Wordpress is set up with any email, blogger tends to be set up automatically when you set up a gmail account, though you can rename the blog. I was interrupted when I started writing this, so other answers may have come in since I started. But both of these are easy to use and you can upload photos and such. The free ones have a 10gig limit, but that is a lot of photos if you reduce them to web size before posting them. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: How can you get a blog? From: katlaughing Date: 16 Jan 10 - 07:30 PM Jacqui, scroll down on HERE and click on the link about keeping it private under the"Group Blog" heading. That will explain the privacy thing. That is google's blog site and I have been very happy with them. The other thing you might think of is to start a google group. You can keep it private with only approved people/friends being able to post to it and read it. Folks can ask to be notified by email whenever someone posts something new to it. That's what we did when we worked on getting a new PC for Art. When you go to google, choose MORE from the bar up top, then use the drop down menu to go to GROUPS. |

Subject: BS: How can you get a blog? From: jacqui.c Date: 16 Jan 10 - 06:16 PM My family are coming to the States for 3 months in the summer and my daughter wants to set up a blog for her 9 year old son, so that he can keep his friends updated on where he is etc. None of us know how or where to go to set one up and would like something that his friends would have to sign in to so that it can be kept fairly private. HELP! |
