Which makes you an ass whole, spaw?

I'm sorry, this was a damned nice sincere thread before some of us provoked more of the traditional potty-mouth nonsense. My God will we ever grow up.

LOL.....Nah......Dan is my best audience and he's had all this stored up just waiting for the right chance and today it arrived.......and I needed the laughs.

Now Leej did nail one thing......When I first read the thread title I called up a friend to make sure I was still alive myself. I mean there are times I'm not really sure so some reality checks are always in order.   Mick on the other hand can kiss my en-tire ass.....

Nah... Spaw takes affectionate joking well in stride. He won't come back on Dan. He is a man of class, a man of distinktion. He would not do odourwise.

That was very funny, Dan.   Hell, though, you're going to be in such big trouble when he reads it! ;0)

After viewing the thread title, I just want to express my relief that the obnoxious old bastard hasn't kicked the bucket.

You know I love ya man...

Every day the bus arrives at school and Daniel gets off and comes into the class. He looks at the photo on the door (me) and says 'Are you going to be teacher today Miss Gilday?' I say 'Yes'
He then asks 'Is Mrs Townley not my teacher anymore?'
'no'
'She's at home with hers baby?'
'Yes'
'You're going to stay my teacher until I'm in L2'
'Yes'
'I love you Miss'
'I love you too Daniel. Shall we sit down and get on with the register.'
And then the day can begin and Daniel is happy having been reassured that the world is unchanged today!

Spaw,
Well What can you say about a man who is admired, revered, and loved by everyone? I can start by saying he's not the man we're talking about here

He doesn't put on airs. After all the holiday eating, he has enough trouble just putting on his pants.

He's afraid nobody will remember him when he's gone. Gee, I can think of several reasons he'll be remembered. He wouldn't like any of them, but I can think of them.

With most people, the left side of your brain does some things, and the right side does others. In his case, however, neither side seems to do a whole lot.

He's always been a swinger. Instead of an umbilical cord, he was born with a bungee cord.

There's no middle ground with this guy—you either hate him or detest him.

spaw never says a bad word about anyone- that's because she doesn't know anyone.
Isn't Spaw great? He really lights up the forum... the moment he leaves it.

Spaw is a middle of a road guy, you just want to put him there and run him down.

a few people who admire and revere him.   we couldn't find any

LOL, Love you my friend

Yup- my son thrived on a consistant schedule. Still does, unemployed and on his own, I can be sure, unless the weather's miserable, that I shouldn't call him at 2:00 pm because that's time for his bike ride!

This anxiety and need for schedules is common in leearning disabled children. I remember the nightmare May was at my son'r school. The term was ending, the routine was changing and the fear was palpable. The children were terrified of not knowing what they would be doing every day every hour when school ended.
We have all read how pissed off Tom has been when his coffee was late or cold in the nursing home. Now magnify that a million times and you have an inkling into the stress.
Lists, calendars, nothing worked. Parents simply had to answer the same questions over and over. Yes we'll get up at 7:30 on Monday and have French toast for breakfast - two pieces cut into eight triangles (the Rainman fish sticks are not a joke). Then we will...and so on.
Constant reaasurance is required. Not easy for parent or child.
Now try to imagine the life of a child whose parents are too bsuy or too "uninformed" to deal with it. That child lives in constant fear.
Spaw has the patience of a saint.

Hello, spaw. I can't stop thinking about the conversation with Tris that you described in the thread on austism. I thought you might have left that thread, so I decided to start a new one.

In that thread you described Tris' anxiety over going to visit his Aunt Connie. That reminded me of my cousin's foster daughter. Years ago, my cousin took in (and kept) a disabled girl of seven. Her name is Judy. Things were going okay until it was time for the family to visit distant relatives.

Judy was very anxious. She suspected that they weren't going to visit relatives. They were going to put her in the car, take her somewhere (such as a state agency) and leave her. Maybe it had happened to her; maybe somebody at school teased her about it.

No promises could convince her. Then one day she counted the underpants for herself and for my cousin's own daughter. She saw that both of them had the same number of underpants for the trip. That convinced her she was coming back.

So maybe your Tris is worried in the same way. He secretly fears that he will 'go to Aunt Connie's' and never come back.

Here's another true story. A friend of mine, Jenny, is now 63, but aa girl she was a foster with an alcoholic mother and no father. One day she started telling me about a 'nice lady' who took care of her at age 10. This lady had a number of foster kids, and she was very organized and operated on a schedule. Jenny said, 'It was SO NICE, after what I had been through, to know that I would have a bath on Wednesdays and that I would be taken care of.'

So I was thinking, maybe when you take a trip, post a list that shows that everybody will be taken care of.

SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY
