The hot pepper wax sound good. Thanks, Betty. It's nice to hear of somebody's actual experience.

Liquid Fence doesn't make anything for raccoons and possums. Ducks, yes, armadillos, yes, horses, yes. But the most common invaders? No.

Rapparee, the deer blood might attract them, esp. the possums, which I understand will eat anything. Possums might think there is a dead or injured animal to eat.

It's a built up area, and shooting is out of the question.

I'm with the Capt'n... Lead works great... Might try some on the neighbor who is feeding these critters, as well... lol...

But seriously, "Liquid Fence" makes the the best products on the market for ridding oneself of pests...

You might try bloodmeal. It's a good fertilizer, and really does NOT make the garden smell or look like an abattoir. It might, I suppose, attract Great White Sharks but I assume that won't be much of a possibility.

Hot pepper wax worked really well for me when a groundhog tried to move into my garden. It's easy to spray on, and won't affect birds at all.

Most animals don't like the smell of Isopropyl Alcohol. Tiny bottles are available from chemist's shops/drug stores (for 'cleaning records', you have to say that)for a test case. It isn't a poison, it has warnings on the label because some desperate people drink it.

A firm here soaks Attapulgite/cat litter with several repellants, incuding Isopropylene, for outdoor use, but you have to keep it dry.

If there is a bylaw, call bylaw enforcement. If not, aall the local government rep and explain the situation and there may be a bylaw set in place. Feeding wild animals is just plain stupid.

I have an aunt whose neighbor puts out food for animals. It is attracting raccoons and possums which are wreaking havoc in her garden. Not to mention that they might want to take up residence at her place.

She's paying an animal control firm to remove them. Has anybody had any success with the various animal repellants on the market? I'd like to suggest what to buy so she isn't spending her small retirement income on animal control.

Yes, she could just raise heck with the neighbor, but she's an elderly woman alone and...you know the rest.

She's 300 miles away, so I'm not talking hands-on help here.
