The ammo horders are the folks who believe in the Rapture, but are realistic enough to know their chances of making the cut aren't really that great. The ammo's to keep the real heathens from eatin' all their Left Behind Rations while they try to convince The Old Boy Upstairs there was some sort of clerical error.

I still want to know why so many of these believers stock up on ammunition just before they are going to get raptured. Personally, I'm going to use it as an opportunity to improve my skeet shooting skills.

Some years ago, there was a big revival meeting in a marquee at Alveston. Gales caused severe damage to the marquee, but the insurers refused to pay out - 'Act of God'.
