Subject: RE: BS: Alex Polizzi - strap me down! From: G-Force Date: 02 Feb 12 - 05:52 AM I spent the whole program wondering who she reminded me of. Eventually I got it - Anna Chancellor! |

Subject: RE: BS: Alex Polizzi - strap me down! From: Will Fly Date: 02 Feb 12 - 04:12 AM Because it's easier and cheaper to copy the formula another has made than to research a new one on your own. A bit like the current "Your 5 favourite songs by (insert singer)" threads around Mudcat at the moment... Who cares about these shows - they're crap. It's just nice to see a sexy, good-looking, intelligent woman on TV - in a slinky red or black dress, of course... :-) |

Subject: RE: BS: Alex Polizzi - strap me down! From: Smedley Date: 01 Feb 12 - 05:51 PM There are small national variations in these international franchises. In the Spanish 'Come Dine With Me' (Ven A Cenar Conmigo for you linguists out there!) the contestants award each other marks face-to-face - much more vindictive! |

Subject: RE: BS: Alex Polizzi - strap me down! From: Big Al Whittle Date: 01 Feb 12 - 05:25 PM Its a bit like that Gordon Ramsey thing where he goes and sorts out a restaurant where everybody is cooking up crap and wondering why they're losing money. Why do they have to keep on trying to repeat successful formulae for programmes. There must be half a dozen tired variations of the Come Dine with Me formula. In England, we could do with a Campaign for Real Entertainment - a bit like the Real Ale one. I wonder if other countries have the same problem. |

Subject: RE: BS: Alex Polizzi - strap me down! From: Will Fly Date: 01 Feb 12 - 04:13 AM Dave - the programme was utter, total crap, but Alex in her little black number towards the end was always worth a sideways glance. :-) |

Subject: RE: BS: Alex Polizzi - strap me down! From: Will Fly Date: 01 Feb 12 - 04:11 AM Ah, you need to see her on TV, swishing down the street, full of glam and reeking of money and power, with those dark, foxy Italian looks. Just allow an old man one small, idiosyncratic fantasy as he strolls into his dotage... |

Subject: RE: BS: Alex Polizzi - strap me down! From: JohnInKansas Date: 01 Feb 12 - 12:06 AM Google Images shows a moderately attractive female, but doesn't convey anything really exceptional. Obviously there's a personality component ... ? Or maybe I just didn't find one of her dressed in red. John |

Subject: BS: Alex Polizzi - hose me down! From: Will Fly Date: 31 Jan 12 - 02:05 PM For TV watchers in the UK (with apologies to all my friends in the US for being continentally parochial): Alex Polizzi is on BBC2 tonight, sorting out some business problems for a squabbling family ["Alex Polizzi: The Fixer", BBC2, 8pm]. Who give a toss about the squabbling family or the business - just show me shot after shot of the gorgeous Alex dressed in red...! Mama mia! Che bella ragazza! Hose me down, Mudcatters, hose me down................. |
