Point One: Dirt is for racing.   Asphalt is for getting there.

Point Two: As you should have learned in the little "Cars" movie, you turn right to go left.

Point Three: I'm only a NASCAR fan as they are about alone now in the upper tier of drivers. Indycars fucked themselves over and F1 is such a tech game that its lost all charm and personality.

Point Four: The best racing will always be found at the grass roots and mid levels. If you have never watched Sprinters and Midgets or Modifieds or Super Mods, smelled the hot oil and burning methanol.....you really haven't tried what racing offers.

Left turns have a place. I just don't care for that place. I agree with Bobert on the "road races". I don't even get much jollies from Grand Prix because the rides are too far from my reality.

I could go on but I'll reiterate my two cents that I posted to past threads... up country, the race ends at 100 metres from the start line and the last one to cross the finish line wins. Up country, when the flag is waved, ya take yer foot off the brake and let'er crawl in bull low 4X4. Rules are... no touchin any pedals... gas, clutch, brake and yer out. Good tunes on the speakers help with the crowd but they don't matter fer nuthin on accounta, up country, it's "kin she craaaawwwllll?"

I came in second one year with a 1984 F150 4X4 straight six 4 speed. That darlin could crawl... I got out halfway and took a piss before the tailgate passed me. Now, I woulda said bumper but rear bumpers were an option back in the good old boy days eh? What a truck! Simple engine easy ta work on. 15" wheels. No rear bumper, no radio, no AC... just a truck that was light and could moose thru the bush and could haul a laod. Nowadays I can't even fix the windows if they won't crank up and down. Sigh.

THAT THERE is a true redneck tragedy.

Hey, ain't like all NASCAR is left turns... They got a few races on road courses... I like that... I rather see every race on road courses... Left turns are boring...

I thought stock car racing was about blokes who like messing around with old cars turning wrecks into drivable vehicles, and then going outan wrecking them all over again in dodgem car races.

What do they need sponsors for anyway?

I got NO interest in NASCAR. It's entertainment for idiots as far as I'm concerned. The only really good uses for a car (other than yer Sunday drive or gettin' the groceries or impressin' yer gal) are....

1. Getaway car from bank job or other heist
2. Drive-by shooting
2. Pursuit car(s)

The old kind with runnin' boards are best, cos ya can stand on the outside and shoot back while the car is movin', meanin' ya don't have to shoot out the rear window glass.

Then ya got yer bulletproof cars, handy for presidents and other high officials in these dangerous times.

As a "reformed" redneck and former race car owner/driver (mini-stock) all I can say is it's about time... MoPar has sucked since King Richard retired... I mean, they went 10 years selling the exact same car-shaped-object with their "K series" thanks to Lee Iacocca that was complete junk... Made the Yugo look like a Bentley...

I'm glad to see them go...

NASCAR is a bunch of cars which can only make left turns and must be driven at speeds well over 100 mph to do it. People attend to watch the barbecues on the track.

I haven't had any interest in auto racing of any sort for years. But, from a purely aesthetic standpoint, not having a Dodge team on the NASCAR circuit seems a shame. The Dodge Charger, which I assume would be the Dodge model of appropriate size for NASCAR competition, is the most bad-ass looking vehicle on the road. Police departments love them because they're so intimidating. Nothing Ford or GM makes comes close.

Sad news for our 3 resident rednecks (3.04^%$!#@ if we count Chongo)

NO DODGE TEAM IN NASCAR IN 2013!

It has been officially announced that Dodge will not sponsor a NASCAR team in 2013.

The lame excuse given is that the Penske Team formerly sponsored by Dodge turned traitor and signed a very lucrative multi-year contract with Ford, leaving no one for Dodge to sponsor with any prospect of coming up a winner. Dodge has decided if they can't buy a winner, they won't sponsor anyone.

There is some mumbled nonsense about "a few bucks to somebody in the stock car circuit" but nothing worth calling "sponsoring."


^%$!#@ Chongo can't count as a full redneck since he's got practically no neck at all.
