Dan... imagine trying to use that sucker on a surface where the entire parotid gland was removed and the neck muscle not cut and flapped over to fill the void AND the nerve that allows you to feel what you are shaving was severed. It's like driving a regular type car into a deep ditch that you can't see. Nay nay! Electric shave!

I tell you, that old brass wwii razor can put a stripe or two also. I press a llittle hard the otherdday.. Dang barbed wire beard of mine... When you take blood thinners it does leak

I have one of these blood-letters , given to me by my previous wife who found it in an antique shop (wonder what she had in mine?).
It's an ingenious device that you can strop right in it's case but I touched it to my cheek one time and then put it away forever. Nowadays I just use an electric trimmer under and above my beard.

Having a very fine, light beard & shaving only every 3-4 days and only chin & neck (mutton chops for about 50 years), I find a simple BIC plastic razor will last me 20-30 shaves. I had electric shavers a couple of times, but never could get good results. One cheap can of shaving cream may last a year.

I actually have 3 semi-antique double-edge razors in the original box and a couple of others from 'somewhere'..... maybe I'll actually try one someday.

Your too young to shave....lol

I use a metal razor but with the double and treble blades. I was unhappy with the shave.

I saw an article some tome ago where a guy said that to make your blades last and get better shaves, you should clean your razor after shaving using an old toothbrush cleaning between the blades.

You know what??? It works for me. I get a much better shave and my blades last much longer.

Only the one head so use single head Braun battery shaver, far better than previous rechargeable. Twice a day but admittedly only small area as most is beard - I am a folkie fhs!

Partial parotidectomy right side (tumor), full on left side (stone). Blades are not an option. Philips three head rotary shaver. It's OK but ya gotta shave Everyday and it's better if ya shave twice a day.

I have a beard, but I still like to shave my neck and cheeks and the back of my neck. I use Bic diosposable razors, and I think they cost me less than a quarter apiece. My stepson asked me to pick razor blade cartridges for him, and they cost me $26 for a package of ten - ten times what I pay. So, I told him that's the last package I pay for. Until he gets a job and earns his own money, he can make do with the cheap ones.

Have always used a barber's razor. When they became available switched to a hair shaper, going though about 2 blades per year and keeping the beard looking good.

I'll admit to using plastic disposables, but: I've been using the cheapest ones I could find, and getting lots of shaves just fine. Then some months back I could find only triple blades in our usual store. I had had triple blades before in life that shaved about as well as single blades, but these damn things felt like giving my face a bikini waxing. I soon found basic single blades back in stock, and I'm cool again.

So dang sick of the plastic double blade, triple blade, quad blade razors today I threw them all away. I dug out my dad's wwii brass safety razor, bought 100 blades on eBay for six bucks and have not had a cleaner closer shave since the 70s..all those new ones gunk up after two swipes and leave ya with stubble. The old brass safety razor is like going to a barber.
