Subject: RE: BS: Now I've Seen Everything From: Jack Campin Date: 25 Nov 17 - 06:43 AM A friend of mine found a message (I think from a Classic FM page) about how Beethoven carried on composing after becoming dead. Which suggests a musical analogue of those books like "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". It survived Wellington's Victory... It came from the Ruins of Athens... That fugue from the late Beethoven's quartets was grosser than you can imagine... |

Subject: RE: BS: Now I've Seen Everything From: robomatic Date: 24 Nov 17 - 08:29 PM It's called click bait and each one is cuter or more nauseating or more blatantly mismanaged historical re-imagining than the next. |

Subject: RE: BS: Now I've Seen Everything From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Nov 17 - 04:45 PM I detest those sites that make you click through for each photo - they're doing that to get more income. I bail on them and look for the story elsewhere or simply move on. |

Subject: RE: BS: Now I've Seen Everything From: keberoxu Date: 24 Nov 17 - 02:06 PM Don't believe me? If you have nothing better to do, click through here ...or maybe scroll, if it all appears on one webpage. The installments are numbered backwards, in descending order, you start at no. 16 and work your way down. The "dead dog" quote is at no. 2. |

Subject: RE: BS: Now I've Seen Everything From: keberoxu Date: 24 Nov 17 - 01:23 PM Of course this was probably intended to read: "a deaf dog that is learning sign language." Tracking this story further, I found the shelter in question; they have two hearing-challenged shelter dogs who are being trained in sign language. They both look like grown-up pit bull terriers. So props to the shelter, which probably spelled "deaf" correctly from the beginning. |

Subject: dead dog learning sign language From: keberoxu Date: 24 Nov 17 - 01:11 PM For shame, fellow Mudcatters! I searched high and low for a thread with this title, and until this instant, there was none. I have just come from someplace called mutually dot com, one of those shameless sites where a tug-at-the-heart (or embarrassingly salacious) story gets told in a series of ten or fifteen pages, click click. I went there to follow the story of an animal shelter with a pit bull terrier whose former owner had to move and couldn't bring the dog, so the dog was left at the shelter with his plush toy stuffed elephant. Darling photographs. Padding the story out, the later pages went from the pit bull terrier in question to other dogs at the same shelter. This story is now at several removes, as it was taken from social media online and from other websites. So it goes on to say: "One of the cuties [shelter dogs] available is . . . a dead dog that is learning sign language." I have nothing further to say. Comments welcome, indeed, encouraged. |
