And why were protective services there THE DAY BEFORE? Maybe one of them left their gun behind...Also, I believe the term for taking a gun away from someone is "disarming" so the fact that the cops "had to disarm" the toddler may just mean they took the gun away from him.

Maybe she just didn't lock a drawer that should have been locked or maybe the gun should have been placed out of reach of a two year old. Maybe drugs are not involved, maybe she lives in an expensive Penthouse but just screwed up! Maybe the mother doesn't have a boyfriend! Whatever.

The kid got a gun some way. He wandered out of the house and the police relieved him of it. The question should be, why in the hell did he have such easy access to a gun? His parents should be held accountable!

SPOKANE, Wash. –– A 2-year-old boy found wandering in a parking lot with a loaded handgun had to be disarmed by police.

The child was placed in foster care by the state Child Protective Services after the incident Wednesday at the La Casa Apartments.

The boy's mother was sleeping in a nearby apartment, police said. She told police she didn't know where the weapon came from.

Police said protective services officials had been at the apartment the day before and an investigation was continuing.

Obviously the kid got it from his parents (who grossly neglected their duties). He thought it was a toy. Good thing he didn't hurt anyone... Whoever was in charge of him should be arrested and charged for child endangerment.
