Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: rock chick Date: 06 Aug 01 - 07:42 AM Sinsull, pictures will be on there way, have to go to the office (UGH!!) to scan them. The G force smile is rather strange!! Just trying to make my mind up whether to do fast track training, bit expensive have to pay in one lump (large lump) or the slower way which is less expensive, still it is going happen one way or tuther. |

Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: Banjer Date: 06 Aug 01 - 05:25 AM Socks are supposed to match??? |
|
Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: SINSULL Date: 05 Aug 01 - 11:27 PM That was 15000'. 1500 and we would have hit the ground nose first. I did admire those handsome young men in jumpsuits color-coordinated to their parachutes. A little fussy, maybe but very romantic. I suspect that BillD and Don Firth don't always match their socks! Where are the pictures, RC? |

Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: Don Firth Date: 05 Aug 01 - 09:49 PM Nothing like raw terror to bring on an adrenaline rush! From one who's ears pop when he looks over a tall kerb (British spelling), Congratulations!!! Don Firth |

Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: SINSULL Date: 05 Aug 01 - 06:20 PM Agreed, rockchick. I cured my sudden onset of "fear of flying" by taking lessons in a single engine Cessna. My one flirtation with sky diving involved going up in a gutted plane wearing a parachute just to see how it was done. It was my job to hang out over eternity and close the door after the rest had jumped. Then an instant drop from 1500 feet to the ground - they save fuel that way. Haven't been up since. When I am thin enough to admit my weight, I will try bungee jumping. For now it is life threatening to own to 105# when I am not. Go for it! SINS |

Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: rock chick Date: 05 Aug 01 - 06:09 PM Gareth Great, I always give to RNIL, I used to live by the coast now I only go there weekends to sail, and your right one day I may need them. THANKS. |

Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: rock chick Date: 05 Aug 01 - 06:04 PM I'm not sure either about heights and altitude being the same. I can't look over the side of a cliff of look down from a balcony of a tall building, even going up a few steps on a ladder scares thye s..t out of me butlooking out of the window of an airplane is no problem, BUT looking of of the open door of one IS a problem, still I must do it again without a doubt. Bungee jumping!I don't think so..... that a different ball game altogether, thou you never know. |

Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: Gareth Date: 05 Aug 01 - 05:58 PM A Fiver will go to the RNLI - After all, one day it may be you they are looking for. Gareth |

Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: Banjer Date: 05 Aug 01 - 05:53 PM I'm not sure if heights and altitude are the same. I don't like heights, but have no problem getting on an airplane. Heights to me is being up on a tall ladder or standing on the balcony of a tall building, that makes me nervous. |
|
Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: rock chick Date: 05 Aug 01 - 05:45 PM Sinsull I'm in England, even with the brief instructions and being strapped to the instructor doesn't make you feel any different aboouut going out of the perfectly good plane 12,000 ft, next one 15,000 ft, then hopefully the training, max you can jump static line is 5,000ft. It didn't cure my absolute fear of heights though, still you only get one life, so enjoy to the fullest is my motto |
|
Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: Banjer Date: 05 Aug 01 - 05:28 PM Sinsull, she did a tamdem jump which means she was linked to an experienced instructor. My son also did a jump like that. No need for other than a brief instruction session just prior to the jump. For solo jumping however, proper training is required. |
|
Subject: RE: WOW!!! MAD WOMAN SURVIVE JUMP From: SINSULL Date: 05 Aug 01 - 05:24 PM You've inquired about the training? You jumped with taking the instructions first? AAAGGHHHHH! Congratulations on surviving and enjoying the thrill. Please take the training before you do it again.
