Subject: RE: BS: how to delete search engine scroll items From: Art Thieme Date: 31 Mar 02 - 06:01 PM Thanks so very much Jeff and Ivan. I know what I know about the computer but that amounts to about two grains of sand in a Sahara sized sandwich. Art Thieme |

Subject: RE: BS: how to delete search engine scroll items From: Giac Date: 31 Mar 02 - 05:55 PM I have a Google search tool bar. To clear the dropdown, I left click once on the multi-colored Google icon to the left. It gives me an options menu, which includes "Clear search history." I just discovered this yesterday when I was wondering the same thing. Mary |

Subject: RE: BS: how to delete search engine scroll items From: IvanB Date: 31 Mar 02 - 05:36 PM Alternately, in Internet Explorer, if you want to clear some of the selections on a Google list, but not all, press the 'Delete' key when an item you wish to discard from the list is highlighted (by scrolling with your mouse over the list). Repeat for each item you want to discard. Not as fast as Jeff's method, but his also has the effect of clearing information for all forms, and I seldom want that to happen. |

Subject: RE: BS: how to delete search engine scroll items From: Art Thieme Date: 31 Mar 02 - 03:24 PM Thanks but... That info is as clear as mud. I'm not talking about Mudcat. On a normal search engine like Google or Yahoo, how do I delete items stored on the scroll that descends from the line where one would type in what you're searching for? Hope that's a bit clearer. Subject: RE: BS: how to delete search engine scroll items From: Jeri Date: 31 Mar 02 - 12:41 PM Art, I'm not sure where the suckers are stored, but I have a clue. I have my browser set to clean out my "Temporary Internet Files" whenever I close the browser. (It doesn't touch my cookies.) I used to have old searches come up in the box when I started typing, but it doesn't happen anymore. There are directions in the FAQ under Technical Advice/How to Log In. Click here for that section in the FAQ. |

Subject: how to delete search engine scroll items From: Art Thieme Date: 31 Mar 02 - 11:22 AM This drop-down list from the input line of a search engine is seemingly endless since I use this feature so much. My question is this: HOW DO I DELETE THESE ITEMS either separately or as a list ? Art Thieme |
