Took me a while to get it all figured out, Rustic Rebel, but I ended up getting married (to a man) this past October. The car was included in the deal ;-)

P.S. He's waaaayyyyy better than a ferret.

Hmmmmmm, Maybe GUEST would be intersted, especially since GUEST would have both genders from which to chooze.

Ahhh, don't worry none about the T-ster. T's skin is like armor plating, GUEST. If it bugged T, T would have said so, you can believe it, And why are you speaking of T's feelings here. Hmmmmmm #937? You trying to say something?

Well, I ain't bitin'. Ya' gotta use better bait than the sorry excuse for a guilt trip if ya' want me to resurrect this thread. Now if you're ready to come clean that's a different story. No, I ain't talkin' about yer privacy issues. That's yer biz. I talkin' about you talkin' for T?

Oh, right, you were merely making an observation...

Well, okee dokee.

So, T-Bird, if I hurt yer feelings (even though I I'm 99% sure I diddn't) then my apologies.

Geeeze.

Bobert

P.S. What has the world come to when ya' can't even have some harmless fun? Like where in thread has anything been said be me that was mean spirited, threatening or confrontational to *reasonable thinking* people? Danged!

I don't expect any respect from posters here, nor do I want it (obviously). But those of you who think what Bobert is doing is so funny, might try looking at it from Teribus' perspective for a moment, before you judge this situation.

Teribus is a member. He is as polite as anyone. He isn't abusive. He has strong opinions, and like all the Mudcat members who participate in BS threads, enjoys the debate.

So one really has to wonder, why (if this was just funnin') did Bobert decide to make the "funnin" at Teribus' expense?   How many of you would think it funny if another member started a thread for the express purpose of mocking you?

Teribus, I'm afraid you have fallen victim to the Mudcat obsession with poster's identities, even though you have played by all the Mudcat "rules" of acceptability, ie joining and using a pseudonym. Apparently you trip some trigger in Bobert, so he, in his usual passive aggressive way, decided to come after you.

Personally, I would never give my permission to this or any other site administrator to release any information about me, on principle. It is a very dangerous precedent to set, especially in the US Patriot Act era. Period.

There is no reason why anyone should allow the Mudcat lynch mob mentality (which is what Bobert is playing into) here to start witch hunts like this. People end up in court over site users' identities being exposed without their permission (and yes, I can cite the legal sources). It would be quite simple to shut Mudcat down in a NY minute, because Max doesn't have the money to defend a suit against him, or even an investigation.

So Teribus, my advice is ignore this sort of thing because it will only antagonize people to come after you.

Bobert - you really should get out more - you obviously have time on your hands.

As to your contention, which I note is partly retracted in your post of 3.02.03 - 08:35 PM, I would offer a simple solution that will that will blow your theory out of the water.

THE SOLUTION:

PM Max - he can, without compromising any ethical consideration relating to Mudcat membership, tell you whether or not Guest/Teribus are one in the same person. He will also be able to confirm the following:

Whether I have EVER posted as an anonymous GUEST - I will give you the answer - Yes I have, on the the rare occasions when I have accessed the forum on a computer that is not my own and have hit the "Submit Button" before adding suffix Teribus to the Guest label - You yourself have done this Bobert - so please do not take this admission on my part as corroborating your "Theory".

Having done that please revert with the outcome of that enquiry on this Thread - Hmmmmmmmmm?

Am I the one y'all are talking about? I posted as Sparrownoid and such a couple of times, otherwise I just don't bother. I'm the one PICKING MY WAY OUT OF RADIOACTIVE BOMB DEBRIS IN TEXAS! If it's REALLY important to you folks that I have a handle, I can register and all that stuff I guess. I know that the forum administrators could track and trace me easily enough even if the new American Gestapo DIDN'T put thumbscrews on their asses (and if they have thumbs on their asses then they're concerned with a whole different set of issues), so secrecy isn't a big deal to me. We're all scheduled to go to the concentration camps anyway. I'll grub up a handle if it'll make y'all happy, though I honestly don't see the point. A post is a post. You don't like it, move on.

Heck with X-ray vision, GUEST, I got Z-vision and with my glasses on it's Double-Z!!! Ha, I knew that would impress you. But now I don't want to hurt your feelings but I think those "Find Waldo" books were pretty boring. Yeah, I reckon if I wanted to spend a few weeks bouncing between those two sites I could figure out who you think youn are but, like I said, I don't want to hurt your feelings so... forget it. Plus, I don't need to. When I say I know you, I don't have to go back and reread everything you've ever posted. I just recognize it. It's a lot like musicans. Like Mississippi Fred McDowell is Mississippi Fred McDowell. Once you know someone, you know them.

Okay, I was just messin' with you and T. Now I'm not a 100% that T ain't you but I'm 100% that you is you. Hey, that ain't all bad. Since you (and not some of the GUEST want-abees) and I kinda agree on lots of stuff, it ain't all that hard to keep you straight from the others. And some of the others dangle the partisipules, something that you would never do. That gives 'em away.

And lastly, I really don't care who you are as long as you are. Lots of folks here are threatened by "guests". I'm not. I'm also not afraid of the dark or walkin' under ladders...

Yeah, this may end this thread but I will go on record of saying that if you ain't Teribus, and only you (and perhaps T, should T exist) know that, well, it would be interesting for the two of you to go head to head.

But then again, maybe you are going head to head on a daily basis...

Thanks for the sites but all the characters looked like Bart Simpspn to me. Guess ya gotta develop a level of appreciation but should ya ever want to... PM me and I promise not to divulge any of it...

Bobert

True, GUEST, Claymore. I am indeed humbled to find that I had latched onto a bit of misinformation and will make no excuses for this error other than to try not to repeat it. But the story certainly was not flattering to the Bush administration who were doing everything within their powers to keep the story from surfacing while Congress was debating on the Respltion to attack Iraq. Pretty damning, but if this is Claymore, and not GUEST, claymore, I respect the *new* tone of your posts since no one got called a "bag of puss".

GUEST, Chairman Meeeoww. Nice site and a clue but not large enough for me to get anywhere with it. I don't see you as that illustrator. To much sense of humor.

And GUEST, guess. Other than the Mandela thread, my theoriy holds true. Maybe you did a mental switchero because of the moon's position.

Meanwhile back at the ranch... dum dee dumm dumm, where's T? Hmmmmm?

See what I mean GUEST? Like if you let Teezer out then you have to kill T and in doing so, well....... oh, that would be bad....

Nice try Bobert, but clearly the GUEST and Teribus are two different people. Please note the clear and perceptive analysis of Teribus concerning the Falklands War in the "Thatcher Day" thread. Teribus has had extensive experience in military and strategic studies, and my guess is that he is a former British military officer (or historian).

GUEST is a victim of Shared Delusional Disorder (though I believe the most current DSM-IV now calls it something else).

And by the way, if you meant "sniffed" as in detected, you used a poor, but none-the-less quasi-appropriate verb. If you meant that the conspiracy was exposed, and destroyed, then perhaps you meant "snuffed". While we are all victims of mis-typed or mispelled words from time to time, you might want to advise your intentions.

PS: You cannot have missed the time line in the Friday Washinton Post on page A10 which clearly laid out the North Koreans actions six years before Bush uttered the words, "Axis of Evil". The President, during this time, was called "Clinton".

Doug R-

I sense that you are old, and your knowledge of history does not speak well for your keeping abreast of new information on World War II that has come to light in the last fifty-eight years.

Sensible folks now agree that the dropping of those two bombs was an unnecessary abomination and a political ploy pushed on Truman by by the lunatic Edward Teller.

I am sorry to disagree with some posters but my father was involved in the blockade and bombardment of Japan at the time the atomic bombs were dropped and it was a pretty common perception amongst amongst the ordinary servicemen involved that Japan was a matter of weeks away from surrendering.

I am so glad to see so many who understand the insanity of this pre-emptive war and Bush, who shoud be impeached. Ramsey Clark is leading the movement to impeach Bush, and I wonder if it may be the only way to stop him from starting this war that will never end. People are speaking out and speaking up, and for those of you on this list who think that we Americans are mostly sheep and cowards, I want you to know that many Americans are working very hard to try to stop this attack from happening.

The entire world applauds the US anti-war movement, and is doing all it can to act in solidarity with it. We only wish that the citizenry of the US were like them.

Nonetheless, the anti-war movement doesn't change the fact that the majority of Americans are greedy, selfish cowards.

You are referring to revisionist history which was brought about by the promoters who came up with the phrase McGrath is so fond of ...political correctness. DougR, old boy,

I know you mean it as a right-wing term of opprobrium, but that's your usual nonsense: ALL history, if well and professionally done is 'revisionist'- it is revised and updated on the basis of ongoing research, documents that are declassified, new facts that come to light.

Please don't while on about the right-wing shibboleth of 'political correctness' which you regularly apply indiscriminately to anything you don't agree with.

Subject: How to End Racism
From: GUEST,Talal

How to End Racism
Recent events remind us that racism remains rampant. Yet we can easily end racism through understanding and education.

People must realize that God created all humans from one couple, thus making the entire human race one large extended family. God says:" O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve); and from the two of them He spread abroad a multitude of men and women" (Qur'an 4:1).

I love a good game of "Clue" Bobert, so I won't tell.

The clues you have given so far about Guest (don't play coy, you know who I'm talking about) is that they start threads. So, could it be this guest:

Subject: The Rise of the BNP in Britain.
From: GUEST,Red Eye
Date: 02 Feb 03 - 10:25 AM

Worrying situation is happening at local council level when BNP candidates are being voted on. At the moment there is five councillors nationally but there is a threat of more to follow. How does the rest of the world see this trend? For those who wish to view their and other sympathetic parties literature go to natfront.com. But please be warned, their aims and ambitions I feel, are totally unacceptable in a democratic Britain.

Beccy: I sense that you are young, and your knowledge of history does not speak well for our educational system in the U. S.. At the time President Truman made the decision to drop those two Atomic bombs Japan gave no indication whatsoever that they were near surrendering. The terms of surrender as set by Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin were unconditional. Sensible folks agree that the dropping of those two bombs eleminated the need to invade Japan which could have caused a million deaths ...allied and Japanese. That figure is my recollection at least.

I agree with your assessment of Mandela however. Disappointing.

Just a note to let you know that we administrators have more information on our version of the forum, and we know for certain when members and GUESTs act as more than one person. They don't fool us, and we don't have to analyze their word usage and so forth. I can't really comment publicly on any of that information or specifically on this duo, but I just wanted to let you know that we keep an eye on that.

Which GUEST would that be? (Well, that's a rhetorical question. I normally skim right past them, the ones without a handle I mean.)

haysoos, Jack...they just blew up a radioactive space craft over my very head. Damn right I'm frantic. The Air Cav is buzzing around a thousand square miles of my home state. And the sad thing is, the Bushes are so unimaginative, they're using a 41-year old Joint Chiefs plan to ram their agenda through. (See the Northwoods thread).

Bobert, From the posts I've read my gut tells me they are different people. While their writing is different their tactics, and thought processes seem to be quite different.

GUEST is alarmist and frantic, Teribus cool and dismissive, GUEST starts threads, Teribus reacts. GUEST is a GUEST, Teribus has a name.

They do however, seem to share the tendancy to react without examining their sources.

Bobert, grand idea starting this thread! Just what Mudcat needs, ANOTHER thread obsessing on guest identities, to add to the 3 billion already in the archive.

Cabin fever getting to you, is it?

Yeah. Little Hawk, that's what I mean. Like what if GUEST and Teribus are like two identities that live in the same body and every day they fight it out here in the Catbox, but have a deal with each other to no post on the same thread for that would bring them in *direct*conflict with one another and well, that would not be good. So one T-Bord stakes out one end of the spectrum of ideas and thoughts and G-ster (GUEST) the other and then at the end of the day they tally up the score and one of the two egos goes to bed happy. And then, the next day, they start fresh.

Hey, I don't know. Stranger things have happened and there are some rather strange rules that seem to apply to these two, 'er one, 'er anywhere between 1 and 2 depending on the alignment of the planets and the positions of the moon.

So, here's what I'd like to see. I'd like to see them go at it in a thread. I would be willing to not post one danged thing if that were to occur and I thing it would be interesting if no one else did either. The only scarey part that I can think of is that if that were to occur, we might never hear from either one of them again. And that would be most unfortunate.

Bobert

It'd be interesting to know the day jobs of some of these people, wunnit?

And you're right, Bobert. There is an intriguing similarity in their sentence construction, not to mention their view of world events ...

Hey, anyone ever figured out why Teribus and GUEST (don't play coy, you know who I'm talking about) rarely, if ever, post on the same thread????

Anyone notice the similarity of sentence and paragraph structure or the average length of the posts??? Anyone wonder why neither of them are into blue-clicky stuff???? And both consistently spell words correctly (I think...)!!!

Now there's a big ol' *Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm*, fir ya to ponder.

Bobert
