Subject: RE: BS: Parlez vous? Phone message translation? From: Mr Red Date: 17 Nov 03 - 04:40 PM I will ring her 2night but she says there are numerals so I think it is a re-direction. I thought she might have surfed to here. If she makes it to Bed'th we can ring from our mobiles. The object is to contact someone they are worried about. |

Can you put the gist of what is said on here, I might be able to help? It could be the French version of... I'm sorry that number has not been recognised... ? Ella |

I've used it alot of times for use with some German correspondance. It's not perfect, but you get the idea - my French is better that my german. Anyway, have a look - it might help you... translate all sorts of languages here! |
Subject: RE: BS: Parlez vous? Phone message translation? From: Peace Date: 16 Nov 03 - 06:56 PM Red: Call a University near you and ask for the Romance Language Department. Someone there will be able to translate. Take them a tape recording, or go in with the number and a few bucks to pay for the call. Call, and let the student or prof or secretary at the Unive hear the call. |
Subject: BS: Parlez vous? Phone message translation? From: Mr Red Date: 16 Nov 03 - 06:48 PM poetsimmo is trying to get in touch with someone in France and the phone number gives a message in French. She doesn't "Parlez allez" ---- well "ne plus". And her command of Lingua Mudcat is somewhat neuvou. I can help her with that at least. Having tried the French Embassy and a few other things she was looking for suggestions. Mine was to record the message and try repeating it, doing a number/word at a time. It sounds like a "number transferred" kinda deal. Any Francophone 'catters with suggestions. She can read her PM's. poetsimmo will hopefully follow my trail to this thread or start her own. |
