Subject: RE: Keyboard Held Hostage From: leeneia Date: 04 Sep 04 - 11:25 AM Re" Leeneia, your computer must have a unique smell once it warms up." No, my computer doesn't smell. There are lots of cleaners that can strip an oily chemical off metal. But now there are felt curtains over it, and on those rare occasions when he sprays, the curtains go in the wash. The assistant at the vet's told me to use a premium detergent, like Gain. All this would be unnecessary if my neighbors would keep their cats indoors, where they belong. |

Subject: RE: Keyboard Held Hostage From: Liz the Squeak Date: 03 Sep 04 - 04:43 PM I love the Infinite Cat project - I discovered it about a week ago.... My Max the face licker, will sit on my wrists so I can only move my fingers a little. Makes for an interesting RSI. He also insists on sticking his face in the telephone but that's another story. Subject: RE: Keyboard Held Hostage From: leeneia Date: 03 Sep 04 - 09:03 AM Mine likes to loll atop the monitor on a cold day. Evidently he thinks it is a cat warmer. It's no problem until a tail drops down over the screen. Trouble is, he became so attached to the computer that he started spraying it when the brainless neighbors let their cats out. (The cats come up to our door and sneer at him, driving him wild.) So I hung felt curtains over the affected area, and when he sprays, they go in the wash. (For this and for other important reasons, keep your cats indoors.) Despite the inconveniences, he is so affectionate that I wouldn't get rid of him for anything. |

Subject: RE: Keyboard Held Hostage From: Sorcha Date: 02 Sep 04 - 10:57 PM LOL! Madame Boudicca the Wicked Wiccan gets a whompin for any of the above except lap sitting. She is learning. She is also getting very good at catching grasshoppers......and bringing them to me. I don't need no stinking grasshoppers...especially in the bed. |

Subject: RE: Keyboard Held Hostage From: artbrooks Date: 02 Sep 04 - 10:03 PM We have the same problem...plus she insists on making love to my mouse hand...especially when I'm playing mouse-dependent games. She doesn't care to sit directly on the keyboard, so I'm experimenting with decreasing the distance between it and the edge of the desk. Of course, that then increases the distance between the keyboard and the monitor, allowing more room for the other cat to sit and occlude the screen. Ya just can't win! |

Subject: RE: Keyboard Held Hostage From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Sep 04 - 06:58 PM I have a lovely carved wooden cat that sits with it's head cocked attentively down over the top edge of my monitor. My kids gave it to me several years ago, and suggested that this kitty sit and leer at the three "ViewSonic birds" on the upper left-hand corner of my monitor. My real cats come by for an occasional cuddle in the lap, but as long as they're getting a little chin or ear-scratch, they leave the rest of it alone. SRS |
