Kerry we're not sure about, but some have their doubts. In any case, it seems to me that most people don't think he's that amazing; his greatest attribute seems to be "not GWB"

Yeah, this is what's funny: people like Liddy think it makes sense to lie about Clinton and so make it appear like he and Bush are equally corrupt. They forget this does not make Bush any less corrupt!

Finally, that last bit of BS about taxes has me steamed. Obviously, they meant Federal Income Taxes; Kerry has to pay property taxes on his homes, capital gains taxes on investments, etc. (You can't evade property tax anyway). His personal income, on the other hand, is fairly small.

I like Bill Clinton, can't stand Hillary, not that I condone his role as Head Executive. I can't stand GWB although I was mightily impressed by his address to congress a couple of days after 9/11, I just think he was elected by gerrymandering methods. It just means that nobody is all good or all bad, so why not have a curate's egg as president?

it doesn't 'show' diddly-squat....many of those 'facts' are simply inaccurate, others are comparing apples to oranges. Clinton's careless sex life is not comparable to Bush's reckless endangerment of the world and the stability of lives.

It is really asinine to fault Kerry for Teresa's fortune, which she inherited through an earlier marriage. Where is the logic that makes this some ill reflection on his charactyer. And let me point out that income taxes are usually paid on income, not assets.

you can prove almost anything with figures, for instance a 10 year old child grows older faster than a 90 year old man

The reasoning is that a 10 year old increases his age by 1/10th at his next birthday, a 90 year old man only increases his age by 1/90th

Ahh, it's so confusing!

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax
burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is the
day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government. This
year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been since
1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000. Notice
anything special about those dates?

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are
actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave
no explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy
men. Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions,
all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old
barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that
sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out
a way to avoid paying his own.
