Subject: RE: BS: I am declared winner of the first debate From: John MacKenzie Date: 02 Oct 04 - 03:51 PM I didn't watch it either, but then again I do live in Scotland, where we only have football and schmaltz on TV. Giok |

Subject: RE: BS: I am declared winner of the first debate From: Don Firth Date: 02 Oct 04 - 03:03 PM Yeah! I'd happily spend 90 minutes just watching Audrey Hepburn breathe. Watching Bush squirm and look like he was sucking lemons was nowhere near as enjoyable as that would have been, but it was quite a treat! Don Firth |

Since I am in no doubt as to how to vote, I spared myself 90 minutes of teeth-gnashing and swearing at the television set. :) I did tape it, but haven't decided if I'll watch it. |

Perhaps they win something else? Ah, but only two people had an opportunity to participate in this one. Listening is not participating. The REAL debate, in which most Americans (United Statesians) can take part, is held early in November. And those who do not participate in that one most assuredly will not win it. Dave Oesterreich |

Subject: RE: BS: I am declared winner of the first debate From: Mudlark Date: 02 Oct 04 - 12:51 AM Well, I'm glad I gave that Seinfeld rerun a miss and watched the debates. At last I'm beginning to feel I can vote for Kerry, rather than just voting against Bush. First time I've been really impressed by him...he did well, kept his head, was forceful without ranting. Bush, of course, is always sort of uncomfortable to watch, never more so that last night. |

Subject: RE: BS: I am declared winner of the first debate From: Stilly River Sage Date: 01 Oct 04 - 06:26 PM We went for light fare at our house and watched a DVD from the public library, Roman Holiday. Hepburn is so charming and elegant, and Peck is so reliably funny and kind that it was a good antidote to 90 minutes of listening to Dubya. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: I am declared winner of the first debate From: PoppaGator Date: 01 Oct 04 - 05:47 PM I'm in a tie for first place, too. My Netflix rental DVD "Out of Ireland" arrived in yesterday's mail, so the Mrs. and I sat and watched that instead of the debate broadcast. It's a documentary retrospective on the Irish music scene (rock, pop, and traditional as well) from the 60s through 2003 -- good stuff! |
