Subject: RE: BS: Whats up? Iran, China, Russia trade From: Peace Date: 31 Oct 04 - 05:50 PM Has a nasty ring to it, no? "Uh, today, there was a limited use of small-scale tactical nuclear weapons. The battlefield destruction was limited to tanks and troops. The death toll is expected to be in the tens of thousands. However, we won't be able to get an accurate count for a few thousand years. And elsewhere in the news . . . ." |

Subject: RE: BS: Whats up? Iran, China, Russia trade From: CarolC Date: 30 Oct 04 - 07:57 PM Well that explains a lot then. For instance the talk amongst US neocons about developing tactical small scale nuclear weapons, and Russia's response that if the US develops them, Russia will not be far behind in developing them also. Hmmm... |

In fact ,I see the championing of environmental issues as th way to stop the Capitalist machine. These issues affect every one of us , encompassing the energy crisis and whether the planet can cope with the continued very high use of energy. High energy use is imperative to the wellbeing of Capitalism, and ultimatly we will have to make a choice between our economic system and the planet itself....Ake |

Subject: BS: Whats up? Iran, China, Russia trade From: dianavan Date: 30 Oct 04 - 02:50 PM Amazing how the world works and how insignificant the power of the U.S. seems in light of these developments. Russia will take care of Iran's spent nuclear fuel and China will buy Iranian oil. That certainly puts a stop to U.S. aggression or at least, I hope so. On the other hand - I'm not sure about Russia, but Iran and China have a piss-poor record on human rights, especially when it comes to religion. Georgie boy must be freaking out! China's economic growth coupled with their need for oil almost guarantees that the U.S. will not have access to Iranian oil. In fact, my guess is that they will not have much access to the middle east, period. Israel had better start behaving in a neighborly fashion. Unfortunately, the U.S. will now turn their attention to Canadadian oil. Canadians and Americans on the east coast had better help protect our west coast environment and ignore the empty promises of job creation and short-term economic projections based on 'false economy'. The next war will probably be between environmentalists and the neo-cons. Please do not ignore the planet. d |
