Nail up a recipe for squirrel pie next to the spot that they are trying to enter. Either that or a warning about lead poisoning.

Once they get in and take up residence, they're a bitch to get rid of.

Unless you want to trap or shoot, best is to make the attic unfriendly. Take away food sources and destroy any nests in place or under construction. Also - dont leave the attic unvisited for long periods of time. Try just going up there 2-3 times a day. By disturbing their privacy they may want to find different lodgings~

MMario it depends on where s/he lives. Squirrels (and rabbits) breed year round where I live.

GUEST, you should have done a brief search and you'd have found a quite current thread to do with squirrels. Here it is. Perhaps Joe Clone will merge this new thread into that one.

they shouldn't have any kits at this time of year - but may have built up a nesting spot and or food store which would explain why they were trying to get back in

Let it know you follow the advice of Mr Lehrer contained within that excellent song Poisening Pigeons in the Park viz:- "and maybe we'll do in a squirrel or two,"!

I had a squirrel getting into attic under roof flashing. I just recently secured the flashing but now see the squirrel is trying to scratch he was in through my siding. Question- is there anything i can put on siding to stop him from burroughing? ( like tabasco sauce) also, since its fall here im assuming they wouldnt have pups. is this correct? any suggestions please..
