Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 05 May 05 - 12:53 PM Good job offer, Joe offer. I'm with Azizi. Sounds like it's a wonderful opportunity to use your God-given talents to help others. Jerry |

Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: Azizi Date: 05 May 05 - 08:21 AM "Work" is a four letter word. Well, sometimes work is good, it just depends on the type of work. **** Joe, since you had mentioned in another thread that you have been voluntarily performing some of the functions of a lay minister for a while, it seems as though officially working in that capacity will be ideal for you. Congratulations!! |

Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: Ebbie Date: 05 May 05 - 01:54 AM Oh dear. You mean Sh---les has become a four letter word? |

Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: Joe Offer Date: 05 May 05 - 12:27 AM Well, I retired in 1999 and thought I'd never work again. But I got a job offer last week to work as a lay minister, and most likely I'll take it. It sounds like a good opportunity to do a number of things I've wanted to do. Shouldn't interfere with my Mudcat or family time much. I wouldn't want to miss out on the Wit and Wisdom of Sh---les. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: Azizi Date: 04 May 05 - 10:53 PM Okay, I get the play on Joe Offer's name, but I thought this thread was going to be about people turning down legitimate offers of employment. I recently was asked to apply for an executive position job [by someone who theorectically could have made sure I'd get the job]. But that job would have been all wrong for me. I thought about it, and prayed over it, and-to paraphrase a once overused folk saying- 'I just said no'. I knew that if I had taken that job, I would have ended up drained and crazy. So I don't regret it at all. Here's another New African proverb that speaks to this: "[If you have a choice]It's better to struggle financially doing what you love than to spend your life energies working a job that doesn't suit you." Ms. Azizi |

Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: Peace Date: 04 May 05 - 09:40 PM Well, if the new priest is already married when he becaomes a priest, hey, it's cool. The day could come when we see a married Pope. I ain't holdin' my breat, but it's possible--if not likely. |

Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: SINSULL Date: 04 May 05 - 09:38 PM I hear Bro' Joe was offered the recently vacated job of pope but he turned it down. Somebody confused "King of Rome" with "King of Clones". And he wanted no part of that vow of chastity. |

Subject: RE: BS: Objections to Job Offers From: Ebbie Date: 04 May 05 - 08:53 PM My guess is that it rhymes with lobe. Read the whole tragic story in the Bible and be warned, LH. |
