Actually, the Pantacrator icon was rather prevalent in the Romano-Byzantine world.

& further on there's...

No. J2K1-8

In honor of our Aussie Olympic hosts, this Jesus of the Week is a submission from one of our Sydney disciples. Rick Benitez, a senior lecturer from the University of Sydney, writes, "Perhaps you didn't realize that already in the 13th century, a very progressive, quasi-Jamaican Jesus was being depicted on icons in Macedonia."

Yes, perhaps we didn't. And perhaps we didn't know that Jesus was in the habit of carrying around giant doobies. OK, OK, it's probably just some sacred scroll the Lord is holding -- or an early papyrus copy of High Times.

The picture is actually an icon known as "Christ Pantocrator," painted by a Greek artist working for Archbishop Constantine Cavasilas, in Ohrid, between 1262 and 1263.

A few "next" along "Team Little Baby Jesus" was bad enough, but

No. J2K1-11 is JUST WRONG!!!

Aaah, let us return to that touchy discussion about certain races displaying certain corresponding Jesii in their homes. It's safe to guess a Caucasian, Christian family will sooner hang an image of a blue-eyed, pale-skinned Saviour than they would a more darkly complected Lord. But, what exactly do cats hang beside their own litter boxes and scratching posts? I think we have our answer, pictured here.

I am especially fond of the crucified fluffball with a loincloth over his private kitty parts. The kitten jesus nestled in the center of the picture is also quite precious if you like that sort of thing. The Last Supper, pictured at the bottom, clearly involves Fancy Feast.

All this aside, I could have told you that Jesus was a cat. He's purrrfect in every way.

Are your cats old enough to know about Jesus?

Order a Jesus action figure! Pose Him! Let Him teach your G.I. Joes a lesson! Crucify Him on your Legos!

To the mothers out there, I know what you're thinking. But isn't this just another white Jesus toy that's going to gather dust in the toy bin with the Go-Bots and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Fear not. These figures, brought to you by Train Up A Child, Inc., are available in Caucasian or African heritage ... and you can collect a whole rack of Christ's friends, too! Mary! Goliath! Eve! Solomon! And get an angel (black or white) for just $4.95 with additional purchase!

In a mission statement on their website, the Train Up A Child, Inc. president, Andre G. Kalich, offers some guidance for the use of these toys. "It is suggested that an adult read to the child from scripture, while the child plays with the toy enacting the Biblical scene. Our purpose in creating this toy is to bring glory and honor to God and to further His Kingdom."

So get out your credit cards. You can have a complete set of biblical action figures and oodles of honor and glory for just $59.50. Pretty cheap, if you ask me.

Derivatives are very risky investments. The financial managers of a number American cities have driven their local governments to near-bankruptcy by unwise investment in derivative-heavy schemes. Sure, one can make a lot of money in the derivative markets, but it's wise not to invest money one can't afford to lose.

To quote aa anonymous but prominent financial advisor, "Derivatives? Screw 'em! Put your money in Beany-Babies!"

If df/dx=f'(x sub0 = lim x-->0 f(x)-f(x sub 0)/x - x sub 0 = lim h --> 0 f(x sub 0 + h) - f(x sub 0)/h, defines a derivative, does it then follow that if the limits are defined as lim 0 --> x and lim 0 --> h, the definition is of a non-derivative?
