Subject: RE: BS: Flash's Anniversary From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 24 May 06 - 06:55 PM Kay Will: I learned "Poor Lil" in the summer of 1948, from a gal about my own age (17 or 18) who worked for the Rochester Art Center, Rochester, Minnesota. I have no idea what her name was. I was waiting for the fall quarter to begin at the University of Minnesota, where I was to begin in the art education curriculum. I'm not familiar with the verse you cite. All I knew, I posted earlier. Sorry I can't be of more help to you, Kay. Dave Oesterreich |

Subject: RE: BS: Flash's Anniversary From: Liz the Squeak Date: 24 May 06 - 04:13 PM I used to sing in the village church choir and could barely contain myself when couples chose the hymn by J Greenleaf Whittier:~ Dear Lord and father of mankind, forgive our foolish ways; reclothe us in our rightful minds...... Subject: RE: BS: Flash's Anniversary From: Kay_Will Date: 24 May 06 - 02:24 PM This is a re-post... Uncle_DavidO I don't know how to find on here where to email you directly if it's even possible. Back in 2004 you posted the lyrics to a song called "Poor Lil". I would be very interested to hear how you know that version and if there could possibly be another verse. Something about "She sits herself on the devil's knee and says for you dear devil it's gonna be free". I am SO sorry to post this here on a thread that it has nothing to do with, but really trying hard to remember this song. My mom passed away in 2004 and it would mean alot if I could remember this song. |

Subject: RE: BS: Flash's Anniversary From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 24 May 06 - 12:47 PM This post is just a leeetle out of chronological order, but if I wait until our anniversary I might forget to post it. So consider this posted on December 21st, 2006. My Beautiful Wife and I were married on December 21st, 1963, 43 years ago this year. Just in case it didn't sink in to you, December 21st, 1963 (like other years) was the longest night of the year. WE were no fools! Dave Oesterreich |
