Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: gnu Date: 20 Feb 07 - 07:27 PM True, I suppose. After all, I didn't invent the concept that if you don't like what's on, turn the channel. If you disagree with me, state your piece and discuss. If you can't take a joke... At times like this, I ask myself, "What would Shane do?" |

Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: John MacKenzie Date: 20 Feb 07 - 07:06 PM Well it depends what was said that caused it to be closed g, you know we are still recovering from a bout of extreme unfriendliness on here. They need to keep the lid on things my friend. I don't suppose it's personal, so don't take it that way! G |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: gnu Date: 20 Feb 07 - 07:01 PM Well, it can be fun... until they think you might be having too much fun and close the thread on you. |

Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: Amos Date: 20 Feb 07 - 06:31 PM Tripod, hell. He's been through more damn tripods than a camera bug. Last I heard he was gonna buy a Sexpod. It's a small electronic device in pastel colors with six...well never mind six what. But anyway, it is designed to... well, never mind what it does, either. But Spaw says it is TWICE as good as a tripod, and like some other things we could mention it fits in his pocket. 'S all I know about it. Except he's gettin' one. A |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: katlaughing Date: 20 Feb 07 - 06:16 PM That's quite a boast, Giok! Sounds almost like Spaw who has to hold it with a tripod when he takes a leak, or so he says. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: John MacKenzie Date: 20 Feb 07 - 05:29 PM It's 3'3" so it's a metre! |

Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: Rapparee Date: 20 Feb 07 - 04:32 PM Nah, it's meters. Amos only looks at meters, gauges, and dials. |

Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: Amos Date: 20 Feb 07 - 09:37 AM Giok is just practicing to be a RIP off artist. I am sorry to hear of Shane's passing, indeed; but hearing of his revival, well, it grieves me ten times more, brave boys. A |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: Rapparee Date: 20 Feb 07 - 09:16 AM I asked for it because I knew that ol' Shane would be letting one RIP -- he can't help himself, you know. Dead or alive, Shane's a RIP. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: Rapparee Date: 20 Feb 07 - 08:54 AM I asked for the alteration, Giok. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: John MacKenzie Date: 20 Feb 07 - 05:00 AM I see the folk police have had this thread title altered. Total sense of humour failure on the part of a few there! I mean I could understand people being upset if the name attached to an Obit headed thread was someone they knew and loved, but this flouncing, posing, and mock outrage on the part of some, would be laughable were it not so sad! Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride, RIP From: GUEST,Blind DRunk in Blind River Date: 19 Feb 07 - 10:26 AM Youse can all go flip yerselfs, eh? They flippin' releesed me today and told me to be a good boy and not make no more trouble. Flippin' boltholes! I don't get no respect. - Shane |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Little Hawk Date: 18 Feb 07 - 11:40 AM Yes, I should think the competition will be fierce for that particular honor! And we only have to wait 25 more violations. Maybe Shane's own beloved Officer Jennifer Dana will get to stamp the 100th complaint form. She's been on duty elsewhere lately, but it would be cool if she could get posted back to Blind River for that. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Bill D Date: 18 Feb 07 - 11:37 AM so, several Mudcat members will be joining the Blind River police force to compete to stamp the complaint form when it reaches 100? |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Little Hawk Date: 18 Feb 07 - 11:29 AM "he will be charged with public intoxication and obstructing a public path" This makes the 75th time for that particular charge. Three quarters of a century. That's impressive. |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 18 Feb 07 - 11:13 AM Perhaps those who wish to creat spurious OBIT threads should use the FAUX-BIT prefix? |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: gnu Date: 18 Feb 07 - 08:29 AM I know Shane McBride. Anyone who does would not be offended... mostly just curious to see how he cheats death yet one more time. As for VERY bad taste, Shane has none. Except for that Shania thing. Why would he pine after some chick that ain't never impressed much? Oh... yeah... money... I can't get with that. Hey, Shane... you get after that Shania Twang chic before the hosin wears off eh. Hosin. Get it? Ya hoser! Catch ya on the flip side eh. |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Big Phil Date: 18 Feb 07 - 03:14 AM I agree with katlaughing. A funny thread, but "Obit" should not be used in Jest. Just my opinion thats all. |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: katlaughing Date: 17 Feb 07 - 11:54 PM *wet blanket alert* I don't like to see the "Obit" used as a jest. We've lost some really wonderful members over the years and to see it heading a thread always gives me a start. *alert clear* |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: GUEST,Cpl. Kevin Neil, Ontario Provincial Police Date: 17 Feb 07 - 11:53 PM It will be gratifying, I'm sure, to the many friends of Shane McBride to know that Mr. McBride is not dead. The earlier report was the the result of a combination of things: what appeared to be blood soaking the back of Mr. McBride's head, the condition of his clothing, and the odour. Upon arrival at hospital morgue, Mr. McBride was stripped and washed. When the stream of disinfectant solution touched him he jumped wildly from the morgue table and screamed, "HOLY FLIPPIN' FLIP! That's cold enough to wake the flippin' dead!" Two morgue attendants, three orderlies, and a shot of valium calmed Mr. McBride enough to take him to a room and complete his washing-off. The material on the back of his head turned out to be not blood and brains, but raspberry jam. It is not know how raspberry jam got onto the back of Mr. McBride's head. Mr. McBride is being held for observation and may be released momentarily. When he is released he will be charged with public intoxication and obstructing a public path. |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Rapparee Date: 17 Feb 07 - 09:33 PM Word from Blind River does not address these issues. The only information I have is what has been given above. Well, there is a quote from one of the EMTs who responded, who is supposed to have said, "Yeesh! Well, I can't believe anyone who looks like THAT is still alive!" I didn't include that out of respect for "Shane." |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Rapparee Date: 17 Feb 07 - 08:56 PM I am not "ticked off" with the late Shane McBride, LH. And I only report what was reported to me (by sources who wish to remain anonymous, for obvious reasons). |

Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Little Hawk Date: 17 Feb 07 - 08:49 PM Snort! Chuckle! Boy, Rapaire, you are really being hard on the boy! He is severely ticked off at you. I think he may give up on Mudcat entirely if you keep up this sort of thing. Shane has had more than one beer bottle busted over his head in the past in various bar altercations with waitresses and other idiots similar to himself, so I hardly think one more would make a crucial difference at this point. |
|
Subject: BS: Obit: Shane McBride From: Rapparee Date: 17 Feb 07 - 08:26 PM Shane McBride's many friends will be saddened to learn of his demise this afternoon. While attending the "Standouts Wet Tee Shirt Contest" in Blind River, Ontaria, Mr. McBride was struck on the head by an empty beer bottle which had been inadvertently knocked off a window ledge above the gutter in which he was laying. Emergency medical personnel were at the scene almost immediately, but shook their heads when they realized that nothing much could be done. He was transported to hospital under the provisions of the Clean Streets Act, and the transportation will be charged against the appropriate Provincial budget. Mr. McBride is survived by an older brother, Don McBride, and by himself, who is currently abroad in Amsterdam. His passing leaves all of us the poorer, and he will be missed by many to whom he owed much. |
