Subject: Serious BS - a clone for Digital Traditi From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 23 Nov 99 - 09:29 PM Just to show that, while HFA and Co can maybe make life unpleasant for the good people who put the Digital Tradition together, there's absolutely nothing anybody can really do to remove it from the 'net - here's a site I came across in a folk club' links. :http://www.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/ (I wonder who he is?...) http://www.numachi.com/~rickheit/ (hmm - very helpful... http://www.numachi.com/ (very interesting...) I can't be fashed thios time of night (for me) to try to put in blue clicky things - just copy the URLs to your address bar, or whatever, and follow the trail. I love the modesty of the man... |

Subject: RE: Serious BS - a clone for Digital Traditi From: Date: 24 Nov 99 - 12:08 AM I've run into several websites who's songs were copied from DT, or who's click-ons were into DT's file for the song. |

Subject: RE: Serious BS - a clone for Digital Traditi From: John in Brisbane Date: 24 Nov 99 - 02:40 AM The site you referenced is in my opinion very legitimate. It acknowledges Mudcat, provides the DT material faithfully, but also adds tremendous value to the DT by providing fully formatted sheet music, ABC's for the tunes plus usable TABS for whistle and mountain dulcimer. For any requests for sheet music where the tunes are in the Dt, I have no hesitation in referring people to this excellent site. Regards, John |

Subject: RE: Serious BS - a clone for Digital Traditi From: Alan of Australia Date: 24 Nov 99 - 07:08 AM G'day, This site has been around for a while, but at one stage was forced to shut down & move by pressure from copyright people. Probably why the above mentioned pages are so helpful.
Cheers, |

Subject: RE: Serious BS - a clone for Digital Traditi From: Frank Hamilton Date: 24 Nov 99 - 11:31 AM The more the merrier. This way the Digital Tradition can keep going. They close one down and another springs up. Then they close that one down and Dick's comes on-line again. It's called the digital folk tradition. Frank Hamilton |
