Subject: BS: French hammer the Scots From: Arnie Date: 25 Oct 03 - 08:41 AM Just watched the Scottish rugby team get any absolute hammering at the hands of the French. 51-9 is a drubbing in anyone's language. Shame really because the Scots always have a good away following and the fans deserve better than this. Worse is to come - they now will probably have to face the Aussies!! On the other hand, the Welsh did their fans proud in beating the Italians - nice to see some good news for them after years in the doldrums.... |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: GUEST,steve Date: 25 Oct 03 - 09:38 AM And let's get behind England and Ireland for their matches tomorrow. Both these teams are the strongest in the 6 nations contingent, and deserve to do well - no offence to Scotland and Wales but they just ain't top flight any more. Can't see Wales getting further than the quarter finals, and Scotland have to overcome Fiji (should be another good game) Steve |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: ard mhacha Date: 25 Oct 03 - 12:54 PM I wouldn`t put Ireland anywhere close to England, the recent meetings of the two sides resulted in massive defeats for the Irish. France looked good against a very poor Scottish side. Ireland might find Argentina more than a handful to-morrow, England will swamp Samoa. Ard Mhacha. |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: GUEST Date: 25 Oct 03 - 05:21 PM the jocks would be cheering if the frogs hammered us. Nice to see the frogs do something good for a change. |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: Gareth Date: 25 Oct 03 - 07:49 PM Sir and Madam's - I regret as much as any the unfortunate defeat of the Scots by the French. As a Welshman - I am happy to say that the occasion of a France-v-England game is the only time you will find the occupants of the village Pub cheering England. Gareth |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: zanderfish3 (inactive) Date: 26 Oct 03 - 06:47 AM It really is a shame for the Scots fans because the only time the Scottish team put any effort into it is when they play England. Dave |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: Tattie Bogle Date: 26 Oct 03 - 11:07 AM Ard Mhacha: IRELAND WON!! And Samoa certainly gave England a fright! I'll keep fairly quiet about Scotland except to say that the French defence was superb and they also have some mazey new runners in the backs and centres: I could see them figuring in the final providee they maintain consistency. |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: Arnie Date: 26 Oct 03 - 11:57 AM England v Samoa was too close for comfort! I expected a tough match but with Samoa regularly in the lead I really began to fear the worst. And to cap it all, Wilkinson's kicking let him down on three occasions which is somewhat unusual to say the least. Anyway, England rallied and scored some great tries and eventually deserved to win. But well done Samoa - you did your islands proud!!!! |

Subject: RE: BS: French hammer the Scots From: Little Hawk Date: 26 Oct 03 - 01:31 PM Ah cannae believe it's come tae this! Ah never thocht Ah'd see the day when a gang o' pantalooned, frivolous, effeminate Frenchies wuid put the bonny lads o' Scotland tae flight. It's a disgrace! This blot on the fair face of Scottish sport will nae be wiped clean wi' mere words and nae be expunged wi' feeble excuses. It's time tae bear doon, bite the bullet, and admit that all is not well in Loch Lomond. Och, 'twas a bit'ter day when the frogs put the tartan doon. Ah've a mind tae drink till Ah cannae see straight until the SHAME o' this day is driven from mah mind. Jist wait till next year, laddie!!! We'll hammer the bastards 75 tae naught!!!! (frae Jock MacTaggart) |
