Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: cptsnapper Date: 25 Oct 07 - 10:43 PM In my opinion it's about time that Tom came and sang in the UK again. |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: PoppaGator Date: 26 Oct 07 - 12:32 AM One of my earliest influences and favorite singers. Very enjoyable article. Tom was way ahead of his time when he covered songs by Bo Diddly and Chuck Berry as well as by Robert Johnson and "anonymous," all on the same album. |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: GUEST,14fret Date: 26 Oct 07 - 07:57 AM Nice article about Tom and good to hear that he's not been forgotten because he doesn't write all his own material! (Not a real singer/songwriter, then!). I live in the UK and he was very influential for me and introduced me to other great writers. I owe him. When you hear some of the banal dross, "That I wrote myself yesterday", and some of the irrelevant dirges that are 'performed' "..because they're part of our traditional heritage" make me want to weep. Please come and visit us, Tom, we'd love to see you. |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: GUEST,14fret Date: 26 Oct 07 - 08:08 AM P.S. $40 isn't really such a 'stiff' price for a ticket for a consummate professional. How much do you have to pay other pro's for 2 hours of their time? |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: theleveller Date: 26 Oct 07 - 08:13 AM Great article. No Regrets is still one of my favourite songs (Tom's version, not the covers). It would be great if he came over to the UK. |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: GUEST,Jim Date: 26 Oct 07 - 11:12 AM He is also one of my favourite entertainers. I agree with GUEST,14th fret. I've heard singer/songwriters criticize Tom as a "Cover Artist". Well so was Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Pete Seeger... Tom adds some of himself to every song he sings and his between song patter is as entertaining as his singing. I'm happy to perform songs and tunes written by others and am just as happy when someone else does one of mine. |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: GUEST,Bob Ryszkiewicz Date: 26 Oct 07 - 12:50 PM Great article. Tom Rush was one of my first influences. I remember seeing him in concert in the 60's doing "Panama Limited". $40 is nothing to see a legend... bob |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: Midchuck Date: 26 Oct 07 - 12:59 PM Tom and Doc - the only two that I used to see in the Club 47 in the mid-sixties, that are still on the road and that I still go to see now and then. Funny to think that Tom, Joan Baez, Dylan, Mohammed Ali, and I are all within a year of the same age. Peter. |

Subject: RE: Article about Tom Rush From: Midchuck Date: 14 Jan 08 - 01:17 PM Going to see him in Chester, VT - 40 miles or so - Saturday night. Hope he hasn't gone senile. I always worry about that when I get tickets for a performer as old as I am. Peter. |
