i think there is a bear cam...too

Lily the bear had one cub, and I refreshed that thread earlier today. You can hear and sometimes see her cub on the live cam.

Be warned that this is only the first phase in what will become a fanatical obsession. Other phases include:

The egg is peeping!

The chick is being fed!

The chick is being abused by its brother or sister!

My how that chick has grown (after 12 weeks it's as big as its parents)!

The chick has fledged (flown from its nest)!

The nest is empty!

The nest is empty!

The parents are nest-building again!

An egg has been laid!!!!!

Damn, it doesn't look good for the West Virginia nest. They've recently laid eggs but the nest is almost totally buried in new snow!

This is an infra-red webcam that is able to monitor this nesting eagle all night. Some eagles have no privacy whatsoever!

They're not always on. They do freeze up and need to be re-booted periodically. ;~)

But they do permit people with a whole lot of time on their hands to make detailed observations. They've observed great horned owls making attacks on some eagle nests at night.
