An update for those of us who loved Col:-

We went over to see Marjorie (his Mum) today. She's doing well but missing his hugs so I gave her some :-) She has almost finished clearing his house, a mammoth task, as some of you will know. Then she hopes to get it on the market fairly quickly. However she still can't get into her living room properly for all the bags of out of date correspondence she brought up and is having to shread (anyone want any animal bedding?)

She has booked herself a holiday in Whitby in June which she is looking forward to. Apparently she used to take Colin there from being a very small boy and has continued to go ever since.

Marjorie is STILL coming to terms with just how popular Colin was. She really appreciated all your good thoughts and is delighted to hear that those who got them are making good use of his teeshirts etc and she's still talking about how many condolence cards etc she received.

It was good to see her today. She looks a lot better than last time we went over and has decided that the sooner everything is cleared to do with the house the better. She's also carrying on with her work for the local theatre - and declaring herself totally independant!

Please carry on sending her 'hugs' as I'm sure she gets them.

I was just thinking about Crediton Festival today and remebered with fondness the night at crediton a few years ago when Col, my Kevin and me kept the people in the village hall who were trying to sleep awake, singing Christmas Carols! It made me smile and ache at the same time, I miss him, so his mom must do even more! Please pass on my hugs to her too!

Just had a phone call from a mutual folk friend of Cols.

His mum is very keen to have some of the photos that people have taken over the years, expecially the one with Molly (Duckling) that was used on the Order of Service.

Mrs Duck doesn't know who took it so can someone out there please help?

Maybe we could put together a book of hugs! If you have a photo of Col hugging you or anyone else we could get them together as a fitting memorial to the man I once described as 'a hug on a stick'.
